⁴² And whoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall certainly not lose his reward.”

⁶ Now this: The one sowing sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one sowing upon blessings will also reap upon blessings, ⁷ each as he purposes in the heart, not out of regret or of necessity. For God loves a cheerful giver.

¹⁷ Now whoever might have the world’s goods, and might see his brother having need, and might close up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

²¹ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

¹⁷ Instruct the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hope in the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment; ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous in distributing, ready to share, ¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is indeed life.

¹ And having looked up, He saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury, ² and He saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta. ³ And He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has cast in more than all of them. ⁴ For these all cast in gifts out of that which was abounding to them; but she, out of her poverty, did cast in all the livelihood that she had.”

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure pressed down, shaken together, running over will they put into your lap. For with that measure you measure, it will be measured again to you.”

³⁵ In everything I showed you that by thus straining, it behooves us to aid those being weak, and also to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, ‘It is more Blessed to give than to receive.’”
