⁴³ And if your hand should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life crippled, than having two hands to go away into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. ^{44 45} And if your foot should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life lame, than having the two feet, to be cast into Gehenna. ^{46 47} And if your eye should cause you to stumble, cast it out; it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into Gehenna, ⁴⁸ where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’

⁴³ Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one having ears, let him hear!

¹² But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to be children of God—to those believing in His name,

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, the new has come into being.

⁶ And the angels not having kept their own domain, but having abandoned the own dwelling, He keeps in eternal chains under darkness, unto the judgment of the great day;

² In My Father’s house there are many mansions. And if not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also.

²³ But I am pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and to be with Christ, indeed very much better,

⁸ For the one sowing to his own flesh, from the flesh will reap decay. But the one sowing to the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

⁴⁶ And these will go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into eternal life.”

³ Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

⁵⁰ This is the bread coming down from heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread, having come down from heaven. If anyone shall have eaten of this bread, he will live to the age. And also, the bread that I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” ⁵² Therefore the Jews were arguing with one another, saying, “How is this man able to give us His flesh to eat?” ⁵³ Therefore Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you shall have eaten the flesh of the Son of Man, and shall have drunk His blood, you do not have life in yourselves. ⁵⁴ The one eating My flesh and drinking My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. ⁵⁶ The one eating My flesh and drinking My blood abides in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one feeding on Me, he also will live because of Me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread having come down from heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. The one eating this bread will live to the age.” ⁵⁹ He said these things teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. ⁶⁰ Therefore many of His disciples having heard, said, “This word is difficult; who is able to hear it?” ⁶¹ But Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples are grumbling about this, said to them, “Does this offend you? ⁶² Then what if you should see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? ⁶³ It is the Spirit giving life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life. ⁶⁴ But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who are those not believing, and who it is who will betray Him.) ⁶⁵ And He was saying, “Because of this, I have said to you that no one is able to come to Me, unless it shall have been granted to him from the Father.” ⁶⁶ From that time, many of His disciples departed to the back and no longer walked with Him. ⁶⁷ Therefore Jesus said to the Twelve, “You are not wishing to go away also?” ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and have known that You are the Holy One of God.” ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And one of you is a devil!” ⁷¹ Now He was speaking of Judas son of Simon Iscariot; for he, one of the Twelve, was about to betray Him.

²⁷ And inasmuch as it is apportioned to men to die once, and after this, judgment,

⁹ who will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you that the one hearing My word and believing the One having sent Me, he has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
