Romans 8:1-39

1 Therefore there is now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. 2 For the Law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the Law of sin and death. 3 For of the Law being powerless in that it was weak through the flesh, God, having sent His Son in likeness of sin of flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the righteousness of the Law should be fulfilled in us not walking according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 5 For those being according to flesh mind the things of the flesh; but those according to Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit, life and peace, 7 because the mind of the flesh is hostility toward God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, for not even can it be. 8 And those being in the flesh are not able to please God. 9 Now you are not in flesh but in Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you; but if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Him. 10 But if Christ is in you, the body is indeed dead on account of sin, but the Spirit is life on account of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of the One having raised up Jesus out from the dead dwells in you, the One having raised up Christ Jesus out from the dead also will give life to your mortal bodies, on account of His Spirit dwelling in you. 12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh. 13 For if you live according to flesh, you are about to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of divine adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, also heirs: heirs indeed of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not comparable to the coming glory to be revealed to us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation awaits the revelation of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of the One having subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay, into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans together and travails together until now. 23 And not only so, but we ourselves, even having the firstfruit of the Spirit, also groan ourselves in ourselves, awaiting divine adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. 24 For in this hope we were saved; but hope being seen is no hope; for does anyone hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we await in patience. 26 Now likewise also, the Spirit joins to help us in weakness; for we do not know the things which we should pray for as it behooves, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with inexpressible groanings. 27 And the One searching hearts knows what is the mindset of the Spirit, because He intercedes for the saints according to God. 28 And we know that God works together all things for good to those loving God, to those being called according to His purpose, 29 because those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom He predestined, these also He called; and whom He called, these also He justified; and whom He justified, these also He glorified. 31 What then will we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 For He who spared not the own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, with Him, grant us all things? 33 Who will bring an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One justifying. 34 Who is the one condemning? For it is Christ Jesus, the one having died, now rather having been raised up, who is also at the right hand of God, and who is interceding for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it has been written: “For Your sake we face death all the day; we were regarded as sheep of slaughter.” 37 But in all these things, we more than conquer through the One having loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 12:16

16 minding the same thing toward one another, not minding the things haughty, but going along with the lowly. Do not be wise in yourselves,

2 Timothy 4:3

3 For there will be a time when they will not endure sound teaching, but according to the own desires, having an itching ear, they will gather around them teachers to suit themselves,

Matthew 23:1-39

1 Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, 2 saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees have sat down on Moses’ seat; 3 therefore keep and observe all things whatsoever they might tell you. But do not do according to their works, for they preach and do not act. 4 And they tie up burdens heavy and hard to bear and lay them on the shoulders of men; but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. 5 And they do all their deeds in order to be seen by men. For they broaden their phylacteries and enlarge their tassels, 6 and they love the chief place at the banquets, and the first seats in the synagogues, 7 and the greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by men. 8 But you shall not be called ‘Rabbi,’ for your Teacher is One, and you are all brothers. 9 And call no one your father on the earth; for One is your Father, who is in heaven. 10 Neither be called instructors; since One is your instructor, the Christ. 11 But the greatest among you will be your servant. 12 And whoever shall exalt himself will be humbled, and whoever shall humble himself will be exalted. 13 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men. For you neither enter, nor even do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you traverse the sea and the dry land to make one convert, and whenever it may happen, you make him twofold more a son of Gehenna than yourselves. 16 Woe to you, blind guides, those saying, ‘Whoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple is bound by his oath.’ 17 Foolish and blind! For which is greater, the gold, or the temple having sanctified the gold? 18 And you say, ‘Whoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it is bound by his oath.’ 19 Blind! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar sanctifying the gift? 20 Therefore the one having sworn by the altar swears by it and by all things that are upon it. 21 And the one having sworn by the temple swears by it and by the One dwelling in it. 22 And the one having sworn by heaven swears by the throne of God and by the One sitting upon it. 23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cumin, and you have neglected the weightier things of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. It behooved you to do these, and not to be leaving aside those. 24 Blind guides—those straining out the gnat and swallowing the camel! 25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of greed and intemperance. 26 Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that their outside might become clean also. 27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like tombs having been whitewashed, which indeed outwardly appear beautiful, but inside they are full of bones of the dead, and of all impurity. 28 Thus indeed outwardly you also appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous; 30 and you say, ‘If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ 31 Thus you bear witness to yourselves that you are sons of those having murdered the prophets. 32 You, then, fill up the measure of your fathers. 33 Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape from the sentence of Gehenna? 34 Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Some of them you will kill and will crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues, and will persecute from town to town; 35 so that upon you shall come all the righteous blood being poured out upon the earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. 37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those having been sent to her! How often would I have gathered together your children, the way in which a hen gathers together her chicks under the wings, and you were not willing! 38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate! 39 For I say to you, you shall not see Me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord.’”

James 2:1-13

1 My brothers, do not with partiality hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory. 2 For if a man might come into your assembly in splendid apparel with gold rings, and a poor man in shabby apparel also might come in, 3 and you should look upon the one wearing the splendid apparel and should say, “You sit here honorably,” and to the poor should say, “You stand,” or, “Sit there under my footstool,” 4 then have you not made a distinction among yourselves and have become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Are not the rich oppressing you and they dragging you into court? 7 Are they not blaspheming the good Name having been called upon you? 8 If indeed you keep the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. 9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole Law, but shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all. 11 For the One having said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” But if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law. 12 So speak and so act as being about to be judged by the Law of freedom. 13 For judgment without mercy will be to the one not having shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

1 Corinthians 1:10

10 Now I exhort you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you, but you may be having been knit together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
