Bible verses about "bosses" | BLB

Matthew 20:26

26 Thus will it not be among you. But whoever wishes to become great among you, he will be your servant;

Ephesians 6:9

9 And masters do the same things toward them, giving up threatening, knowing that also their master and yours is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him.

1 Timothy 6:1-2

1 As many as are under a yoke as slaves, let them esteem the own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching should not be blasphemed. 2 Now those having believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers; but rather, let them serve them, because those being helped by the good service are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.

Hebrews 13:17

17 Obey you those leading and be submissive—for they watch over your souls, as about to give account—so that they may do this with joy and not groaning, for this is unprofitable for you.

Colossians 3:22-25

22 Slaves, obey the earthly masters in all things, not with eye-services as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you might do, work from the soul, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that you will receive from the Lord the reward of the inheritance. You serve the Lord Christ! 25 For the one doing wrong will be repaid for what he has done wrong; and there is no partiality.

Romans 13:1-14

1 Let every soul be subject to the authorities being above him. For there is no authority except by God; but those existing are having been instituted by God. 2 Therefore the one rebelling against the authority has resisted the ordinance of God, and those having resisted will bring judgment upon themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Now do you desire not to fear the authority? Do the good, and you will have praise from him. 4 For he is God’s servant to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For He is God’s servant, an avenger for wrath to the one doing evil. 5 Therefore it is necessary to be subject, not only on account of wrath, but also on account of the conscience. 6 For because of this, you also pay taxes; for they are servants of God, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render to all their dues: tax to whom tax, revenue to whom revenue, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor. 8 Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one loving the other has fulfilled the Law. 9 For, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, in, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does not do evil to its neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law. 11 And do this knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken out of sleep; for our salvation is nearer now than when first we believed. 12 The night is nearly over, and the day has drawn near; therefore we should cast off the works of darkness and should put on the armor of light. 13 We should walk properly, as in daytime; not in reveling and drinking, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.

Ephesians 6:5-8

5 Slaves, obey the earthly masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of your heart as to Christ, 6 not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 rendering service with good will as to the Lord and not to men, 8 knowing that each one, whatever good he might have done, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is slave or free.
