¹⁶ Εἶπεν (Said) οὖν (therefore) Θωμᾶς (Thomas), ὁ (-) λεγόμενος (called) Δίδυμος (Didymus), τοῖς (to the) συμμαθηταῖς (fellow disciples), “Ἄγωμεν (Let go) καὶ (also) ἡμεῖς (us), ἵνα (that) ἀποθάνωμεν (we may die) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (Him).”

² ἦσαν (They were) ὁμοῦ (together), Σίμων (Simon) Πέτρος (Peter), καὶ (and) Θωμᾶς (Thomas) ὁ (-) λεγόμενος (called) Δίδυμος (Didymus), καὶ (and) Ναθαναὴλ (Nathanael) ὁ (-) ἀπὸ (from) Κανᾶ (Cana) τῆς (-) Γαλιλαίας (of Galilee), καὶ (and) οἱ (the sons) τοῦ (-) Ζεβεδαίου (of Zebedee), καὶ (and) ἄλλοι (others) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) μαθητῶν (disciples) αὐτοῦ (His) δύο (two).

¹¹ Μετὰ (After) δὲ (then) τρεῖς (three) μῆνας (months), ἀνήχθημεν (we sailed) ἐν (in) πλοίῳ (a ship) παρακεχειμακότι (having wintered) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) νήσῳ (island), Ἀλεξανδρινῷ (Alexandrian), παρασήμῳ (with a figurehead of) Διοσκούροις (the Dioscuri).

¹¹ ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him), ἐν (in) ᾧ (whom) καὶ (also) ἐκληρώθημεν (we have obtained an inheritance), προορισθέντες (having been predestined) κατὰ (according to) πρόθεσιν (the purpose) τοῦ (of the One) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things) ἐνεργοῦντος (working) κατὰ (according to) τὴν (the) βουλὴν (counsel) τοῦ (of the) θελήματος (will) αὐτοῦ (of Him),
