Matthew 28:1-20

1 Ὀψὲ (After) δὲ (then) σαββάτων (the Sabbaths), τῇ (it) ἐπιφωσκούσῃ (being dawn) εἰς (toward) μίαν (the first day) σαββάτων (of the week), ἦλθεν (came) Μαριὰμ (Mary) ἡ (-) Μαγδαληνὴ (Magdalene) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ἄλλη (other) Μαρία (Mary), θεωρῆσαι (to see) τὸν (the) τάφον (tomb). 2 Καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), σεισμὸς (an earthquake) ἐγένετο (there was) μέγας (great); ἄγγελος (an angel) γὰρ (for) Κυρίου (of the Lord), καταβὰς (having descended) ἐξ (out of) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), καὶ (and) προσελθὼν (having come), ἀπεκύλισεν (rolled away) τὸν (the) λίθον (stone) καὶ (and) ἐκάθητο (was sitting) ἐπάνω (upon) αὐτοῦ (it). 3 ἦν (Was) δὲ (now) ἡ (the) εἰδέα (appearance) αὐτοῦ (of him) ὡς (like) ἀστραπὴ (lightning), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) ἔνδυμα (clothing) αὐτοῦ (of him) λευκὸν (white) ὡς (as) χιών (snow). 4 ἀπὸ (From) δὲ (now) τοῦ (the) φόβου (fear) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐσείσθησαν (trembled) οἱ (those) τηροῦντες (keeping guard) καὶ (and) ἐγενήθησαν (became) ὡς (as) νεκροί (dead men). 5 Ἀποκριθεὶς (Answering) δὲ (now), ὁ (the) ἄγγελος (angel) εἶπεν (said) ταῖς (to the) γυναιξίν (women), “Μὴ (Not) φοβεῖσθε (fear) ὑμεῖς (you); οἶδα (I know) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), τὸν (the One) ἐσταυρωμένον (having been crucified), ζητεῖτε (you seek). 6 οὐκ (Not) ἔστιν (He is) ὧδε (here); ἠγέρθη (He is risen) γὰρ (for), καθὼς (as) εἶπεν (He said). δεῦτε (Come), ἴδετε (see) τὸν (the) τόπον (place) ὅπου (where) ἔκειτο (He was lying). 7 καὶ (And) ταχὺ (quickly) πορευθεῖσαι (having gone), εἴπατε (say) τοῖς (to the) μαθηταῖς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ὅτι (that) Ἠγέρθη (He is risen) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead) καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), προάγει (He goes before) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) Γαλιλαίαν (Galilee); ἐκεῖ (there) αὐτὸν (Him) ὄψεσθε (you will see). ἰδοὺ (Behold), εἶπον (I have told) ὑμῖν (you).” 8 Καὶ (And) ἀπελθοῦσαι (having gone out) ταχὺ (quickly) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) μνημείου (tomb) μετὰ (with) φόβου (fear) καὶ (and) χαρᾶς (joy) μεγάλης (great), ἔδραμον (they ran) ἀπαγγεῖλαι (to tell) τοῖς (the) μαθηταῖς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him). 9 καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ὑπήντησεν (met) αὐταῖς (them), λέγων (saying), “Χαίρετε (Greetings)!” αἱ (-) δὲ (And) προσελθοῦσαι (having come to Him), ἐκράτησαν (they took hold of) αὐτοῦ (His) τοὺς (-) πόδας (feet) καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped) αὐτῷ (Him). 10 τότε (Then) λέγει (says) αὐταῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Μὴ (Not) φοβεῖσθε (fear). ὑπάγετε (Go), ἀπαγγείλατε (tell) τοῖς (the) ἀδελφοῖς (brothers), μου (of Me) ἵνα (so that) ἀπέλθωσιν (they should go) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) Γαλιλαίαν (Galilee), κἀκεῖ (and there) με (Me) ὄψονται (will they see).” 11 Πορευομένων (As were going) δὲ (now) αὐτῶν (they), ἰδού (behold), τινες (some) τῆς (of the) κουστωδίας (guard), ἐλθόντες (having gone) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city), ἀπήγγειλαν (reported) τοῖς (to the) ἀρχιερεῦσιν (chief priests) ἅπαντα (all) τὰ (the things) γενόμενα (having been done). 12 καὶ (And) συναχθέντες (having been gathered together) μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), συμβούλιόν (counsel) τε (then) λαβόντες (having taken), ἀργύρια (silver pieces) ἱκανὰ (many) ἔδωκαν (they gave) τοῖς (to the) στρατιώταις (soldiers), 13 λέγοντες (saying), “Εἴπατε (Say) ὅτι (that) Οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him), νυκτὸς (by night) ἐλθόντες (having come), ἔκλεψαν (stole) αὐτὸν (Him), ἡμῶν (we) κοιμωμένων (being asleep). 14 καὶ (And) ἐὰν (if) ἀκουσθῇ (is heard) τοῦτο (this) ἐπὶ (by) τοῦ (the) ἡγεμόνος (governor), ἡμεῖς (we) πείσομεν (will persuade) ‹αὐτὸν› (him), καὶ (and) ὑμᾶς (you) ἀμερίμνους (out of trouble) ποιήσομεν (will keep).” 15 Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) λαβόντες (having taken) ‹τὰ› (the) ἀργύρια (money), ἐποίησαν (they did) ὡς (as) ἐδιδάχθησαν (they were instructed). Καὶ (And) διεφημίσθη (is spread abroad) ὁ (the) λόγος (report) οὗτος (this) παρὰ (among the) Ἰουδαίοις (Jews), μέχρι (until) τῆς (the) σήμερον (present) ἡμέρας (day). 16 Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ἕνδεκα (the eleven) μαθηταὶ (disciples) ἐπορεύθησαν (went) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) Γαλιλαίαν (Galilee), εἰς (to) τὸ (the) ὄρος (mountain) οὗ (where) ἐτάξατο (assigned) αὐτοῖς (them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus). 17 καὶ (And) ἰδόντες (having seen) αὐτὸν (Him) προσεκύνησαν (they worshiped); οἱ (some) δὲ (however) ἐδίστασαν (doubted). 18 Καὶ (And) προσελθὼν (having come to them), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐλάλησεν (spoke) αὐτοῖς (to them), λέγων (saying), “Ἐδόθη (Has been given) μοι (to Me) πᾶσα (all) ἐξουσία (authority) ἐν (in) οὐρανῷ (heaven) καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth). 19 πορευθέντες (Having gone) οὖν (therefore), μαθητεύσατε (disciple) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations), βαπτίζοντες (baptizing) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit), 20 διδάσκοντες (teaching) αὐτοὺς (them) τηρεῖν (to observe) πάντα (all things), ὅσα (whatever) ἐνετειλάμην (I commanded) ὑμῖν (you). καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἐγὼ (I) μεθ’ (with) ὑμῶν (you) εἰμι (am) πάσας (all) τὰς (the) ἡμέρας (days), ἕως (until) τῆς (the) συντελείας (completion) τοῦ (of the) αἰῶνος (age).”
