⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἄλλον (another) ἄγγελον (angel) πετόμενον (flying) ἐν (in) μεσουρανήματι (mid-heaven), ἔχοντα (having) εὐαγγέλιον (the glad tidings) αἰώνιον (everlasting) εὐαγγελίσαι (to preach) ἐπὶ (upon) τοὺς (those) καθημένους (dwelling) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) πᾶν (every) ἔθνος (nation) καὶ (and) φυλὴν (tribe) καὶ (and) γλῶσσαν (tongue) καὶ (and) λαόν (people),

¹⁰ καὶ (And) εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) πρῶτον (first) δεῖ (it behooves) κηρυχθῆναι (to proclaim) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel).

⁴⁷ καὶ (and) κηρυχθῆναι (to be proclaimed) ἐπὶ (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him) μετάνοιαν (repentance) εἰς (and) ἄφεσιν (forgiveness) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (-) ἔθνη (nations), ἀρξάμενοι (having begun) ἀπὸ (from) Ἰερουσαλήμ (Jerusalem).

⁸ ἀλλὰ (But) λήμψεσθε (you will receive) δύναμιν (power), ἐπελθόντος (having come) τοῦ (the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit) ἐφ’ (upon) ὑμᾶς (you), καὶ (and) ἔσεσθέ (you will be) μου (for Me) μάρτυρες (witnesses), ἔν (in) τε (both) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) τῇ (-) Ἰουδαίᾳ (Judea), καὶ (and) Σαμαρείᾳ (Samaria), καὶ (and) ἕως (to) ἐσχάτου (the uttermost part) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth).”

¹⁴ πάντων (All) τε (and) καταπεσόντων (having fallen down) ἡμῶν (of us) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) γῆν (ground), ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνὴν (a voice) λέγουσαν (saying) πρός (to) με (me) τῇ (in the) Ἑβραΐδι (Hebrew) διαλέκτῳ (language), ‘Σαοὺλ (Saul), Σαούλ (Saul), τί (why) με (Me) διώκεις (persecute you)? σκληρόν (It is hard) σοι (for you) πρὸς (against) κέντρα (the goads) λακτίζειν (to kick).’ ¹⁵ Ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (then) εἶπα (said), ‘Τίς (Who) εἶ (are You), Κύριε (Lord)?’ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Κύριος (the Lord) εἶπεν (said), ‘Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), ὃν (whom) σὺ (you) διώκεις (are persecuting). ¹⁶ ἀλλὰ (But) ἀνάστηθι (rise up) καὶ (and) στῆθι (stand) ἐπὶ (on) τοὺς (the) πόδας (feet) σου (of you); εἰς (for this) τοῦτο (purpose) γὰρ (for) ὤφθην (I have appeared) σοι (to you), προχειρίσασθαί (to appoint) σε (you) ὑπηρέτην (a servant) καὶ (and) μάρτυρα (a witness) ὧν (of that which) τε (both) εἶδές (you have seen) με (of Me), ὧν (of the things in which) τε (then) ὀφθήσομαί (I will appear) σοι (to you), ¹⁷ ἐξαιρούμενός (delivering) σε (you) ἐκ (out from) τοῦ (the) λαοῦ (people) καὶ (and) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ἐθνῶν (Gentiles), εἰς (to) οὓς (whom) ἐγὼ (I) ἀποστέλλω (am sending) σε (you), ¹⁸ ἀνοῖξαι (to open) ὀφθαλμοὺς (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them), τοῦ (that) ἐπιστρέψαι (they may turn) ἀπὸ (from) σκότους (darkness) εἰς (to) φῶς (light), καὶ (and) τῆς (from the) ἐξουσίας (power) τοῦ (-) Σατανᾶ (of Satan) ἐπὶ (to) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God), τοῦ (that) λαβεῖν (may receive) αὐτοὺς (they) ἄφεσιν (forgiveness) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) καὶ (and) κλῆρον (an inheritance) ἐν (among) τοῖς (those) ἡγιασμένοις (having been sanctified) πίστει (by faith) τῇ (that is) εἰς (in) ἐμέ (Me).’

¹⁹ πορευθέντες (Having gone) οὖν (therefore), μαθητεύσατε (disciple) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations), βαπτίζοντες (baptizing) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit),

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) κηρυχθήσεται (there will be proclaimed) τοῦτο (this) τὸ (-) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) τῆς (of the) βασιλείας (kingdom) ἐν (in) ὅλῃ (all) τῇ (the) οἰκουμένῃ (earth), εἰς (for) μαρτύριον (a testimony) πᾶσιν (to all) τοῖς (the) ἔθνεσιν (nations); καὶ (and) τότε (then) ἥξει (will come) τὸ (the) τέλος (end).

⁴⁷ οὕτως (Thus) γὰρ (for) ἐντέταλται (has commanded) ἡμῖν (us) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord): ‘Τέθεικά (I have set) σε (you) εἰς (for) φῶς (a light) ἐθνῶν (of the Gentiles), τοῦ (-) εἶναί (to be) σε (you) εἰς (for) σωτηρίαν (salvation) ἕως (to) ἐσχάτου (the uttermost part) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth).’”

¹³ “Πᾶς (Whoever) γὰρ (for) ὃς (that) ἂν (-) ἐπικαλέσηται (shall call upon) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) Κυρίου (of the Lord) σωθήσεται (will be saved).” ¹⁴ Πῶς (How) οὖν (then) ἐπικαλέσωνται (shall they call) εἰς (on Him) ὃν (whom) οὐκ (not) ἐπίστευσαν (they believed)? πῶς (How) δὲ (now) πιστεύσωσιν (shall they believe on Him) οὗ (of whom) οὐκ (not) ἤκουσαν (they have heard)? πῶς (How) δὲ (now) ἀκούσωσιν (shall they hear) χωρὶς (apart from) κηρύσσοντος (preaching)? ¹⁵ πῶς (How) δὲ (now) κηρύξωσιν (shall they preach) ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) ἀποσταλῶσιν (they are sent)? καθὼς* (As) γέγραπται (it has been written): “Ὡς (How) ὡραῖοι (beautiful) οἱ (the) πόδες (feet) τῶν (of those) εὐαγγελιζομένων (proclaiming good news) ‹τὰ› (of) ἀγαθά (good things)!”

¹⁵ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Πορευθέντες (Having gone) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) ἅπαντα (all), κηρύξατε (proclaim) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) πάσῃ (to all) τῇ (the) κτίσει (creation).
