²³ But he turned and said to Peter: Get behind me, adversary; you are a snare to me: for you are not thinking of the things of God; but of the things of men.

¹⁰ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in abundance.

¹⁸ And he said to them: I saw Satan, like lightning from heaven, falling.

³ But I fear lest, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity which pertains to Christ.

⁴ whose unbelieving minds the god of this age has darkened, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine to them.

²⁷ nor give place to the devil.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil:

⁹ And the great dragon, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world, was cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying: Now has come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren, he that accused them before our God day and night, is cast down. ¹¹ And they over came him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives even to death. ¹² Therefore, rejoice you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Alas for the land and for the sea! for the devil has come down to you with great anger, because he knows that he has but a short time.

¹² for our conflict is not with flesh and blood, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the rulers of the darkness of this world, with the wicked spirits in the heavenly regions.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the wicked one.

²⁰ The God of peace will soon bruise Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you

⁷ Submit yourselves, therefore, to God; resist the devil, and he will flee from you;

⁹ And the great dragon, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world, was cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

⁴⁴ You are of your father, the devil; and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the be ginning, and stood not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks that which is false, he speaks from what is his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁴ and no wonder, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

⁸ He that works sin is of the devil, for the devil sins from the beginning: for this purpose was the son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful: for your adversary, the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.
