⁸ Nor let us be guilty of lewdness, as some of them were guilty, and fell, in one day, twenty-three thou sand. ⁹ Nor let us tempt the Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents. ¹⁰ Nor do you murmur, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer. ¹¹ Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they are written for the instruction of us, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

¹⁴ Do all things without murmurings and disputings, ¹⁵ that you may be without reproach and Harmless, the children of God, without blame, in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world, ¹⁶ holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain, nor labor in vain.
