Bible verses about "eunuchs" | Anderson

Romans 1:25-29

25 who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason, God delivered them over to vile passions: for their females exchanged their natural use for that which is against nature: 27 and in like manner also the males, leaving the natural use of the females, burned in their lusts one toward another, males with males practicing infamous lewdness, and receiving in them selves the due reward of their error. 28 And as they refused to acknowledge God, God delivered them up to an undiscerning mind, to do detestable things; 29 as they were filled with all unrighteousness, lewdness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity;

Acts 10:35

35 but, in every nation, he that fears him and works righteousness is accepted by him.

1 Corinthians 7:29-40

29 Now, this I say, brethren, the time is fraught with trials. It remains that those who have wives be as though they had them not; 30 and those who weep, as though they wept not; and those who rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and those who buy, as though they possessed not: 31 and those who use this world, as not abusing it; for the outward show of this world passes away. 32 But I would have you to be without anxiety. The unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord: 33 but he that is married, is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife. 34 There is a difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman is concerned about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy in body and in spirit; but she that is married, is concerned about the things of the world, how she may please her husband. 35 I speak this for your own profit; not that I would entangle you, but that you may decorously and devotedly wait upon the Lord, without distraction. 36 But if any man thinks he would treat his virgin daughter amiss, should she pass the bloom of life, and it is necessary that it should be so, let him do as he pleases, he does not sin; let them (the suitor and the daughter) marry. 37 But he that stands firm in his purpose, having no necessity to give his daughter in marriage, but has liberty with respect to his own will, and has thus decided in his own heart, that he will keep his daughter a virgin, does well. 38 So then, even he that gives her in marriage, does well; but he that gives her not in marriage, does better. 39 The wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband die, she is free to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord. 40 But she is happier, in my judgment, if she remains as she is; and I think that I have, also, the Spirit of God.

Acts 10:34-35

34 And Peter opened his mouth, and said: In truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons; 35 but, in every nation, he that fears him and works righteousness is accepted by him.

Acts 8:26-29

26 And an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying: Arise, and go toward the south, to the road that leads from Jerusalem to Gaza; this is desert. 27 And he arose and went. And be hold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning, and, sitting in his chariot, read the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip: Go forward and join your self to this chariot.

Matthew 19:9-12

9 But I say to you, That whoever puts away his wife, unless for lewdness, and marries another, commits adultery; and he that marries her that is put away, commits adultery. 10 His disciples said to him: If the relation of man and wife be such, it is not good to marry. 11 But he said to them: All can not accept this saying; only those to whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs that were born such from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs that have been made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs that have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him accept it that is able to accept it.

Acts 8:26-39

26 And an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying: Arise, and go toward the south, to the road that leads from Jerusalem to Gaza; this is desert. 27 And he arose and went. And be hold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning, and, sitting in his chariot, read the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip: Go forward and join your self to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran forward, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah; and he said: Do you understand what you are reading? 31 He answered: How can I, unless some one instruct me? And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The passage of the scripture which he was reading, was this: As a sheep for the slaughter was he led; and as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, so opened he not his mouth 33 in his humiliation. The sentence against him was taken away; but who shall describe the men of his generation? For his life was taken from the earth. 34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said: I pray you, of whom speaks the prophet this? Of himself, or of some other man? 35 And Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached to him Jesus. 36 And as they went along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch said: See, here is water; what hinders me from being immersed? 37 :38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still; and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he immersed him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

Matthew 19:12

12 For there are eunuchs that were born such from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs that have been made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs that have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him accept it that is able to accept it.
