¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes on him should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through him, might be saved.

²⁰ (for, since the creation of the world, his attributes, which are invisible, are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, both his eternal power and divinity,) that they may be without excuse;

⁵ For they are willingly ignorant of this, that by the word of God, the heavens of old had their being as also the earth consisting of water and subsisting by water,
