9 And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified: for these things must needs come to pass first; but the end is not immediately.}
10 Then said he unto them, { Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 and there shall be great earthquakes, and in divers places famines and pestilences; and there shall be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you, and shall persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake. 13 It shall turn out unto you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer: 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay. 16 But ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and [some] of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. 18 And not a hair of your head shall perish. 19 In your patience ye shall win your souls.
20 But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand. 21 Then let them that are in Judζa flee unto the mountains; and let them that are in the midst of her depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter therein. 22 For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 Woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows; 26 men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draweth nigh.}
29 And he spake to them a parable: { Behold the fig tree, and all the trees: 30 when they now shoot forth, ye see it and know of your own selves that the summer is now nigh. 31 Even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare: 35 for [so] shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth. 36 But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.}

Proverbs 16:1-33

1 The plans of the heart belong to man;
But the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah. 2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;
But Jehovah weigheth the spirits. 3 Commit thy works unto Jehovah,
And thy purposes shall be established. 4 Jehovah hath made everything for its own end;
Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. 5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah:
[Though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished. 6 By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for;
And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil. 7 When a man's ways please Jehovah,
He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. 8 Better is a little, with righteousness,
Than great revenues with injustice. 9 A man's heart deviseth his way;
But Jehovah directeth his steps. 10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king;
His mouth shall not transgress in judgment. 11 A just balance and scales are Jehovah's;
All the weights of the bag are his work. 12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness;
For the throne is established by righteousness. 13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings;
And they love him that speaketh right. 14 The wrath of a king is [as] messengers of death;
But a wise man will pacify it. 15 In the light of the king's countenance is life;
And his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain. 16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!
Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver. 17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil:
He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. 18 Pride [goeth] before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor,
Than to divide the spoil with the proud. 20 He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good;
And whoso trusteth in Jehovah, happy is he. 21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent;
And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. 22 Understanding is a well-spring of life unto him that hath it;
But the correction of fools is [their] folly. 23 The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth,
And addeth learning to his lips. 24 Pleasant words are [as] a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. 25 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
But the end thereof are the ways of death. 26 The appetite of the laboring man laboreth for him;
For his mouth urgeth him [thereto]. 27 A worthless man deviseth mischief;
And in his lips there is as a scorching fire. 28 A perverse man scattereth abroad strife;
And a whisperer separateth chief friends. 29 A man of violence enticeth his neighbor,
And leadeth him in a way that is not good. 30 He that shutteth his eyes, [it is] to devise perverse things:
He that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass. 31 The hoary head is a crown of glory;
It shall be found in the way of righteousness. 32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city. 33 The lot is cast into the lap;
But the whole disposing thereof is of Jehovah.

John 16:33

33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.}

Romans 12:1-2

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service. 2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 13:11

11 And this, knowing the season, that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is salvation nearer to us than when we [first] believed.

Proverbs 6:6-8

6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard;
Consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no chief,
Overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her bread in the summer,
And gathereth her food in the harvest.

Proverbs 22:3

3 A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself;
But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

Matthew 25:1-46

1 { Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them: 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
14 For [it is] as [when] a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey. 16 Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents. 17 In like manner he also that [received] the two gained other two. 18 But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. 19 Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them. 20 And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 And he also that [received] the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter; 25 and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own. 26 But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter; 27 thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest. 28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away. 30 And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
31 But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory: 32 and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats; 33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; 36 naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink? 38 And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me. 46 And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.}

Matthew 24:44

44 Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Luke 21:36

36 But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.}

1 Peter 3:15

15 but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: [being] ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear:

Proverbs 24:27

27 Prepare thy work without,
And make it ready for thee in the field;
And afterwards build thy house.
