¹³ but insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; because the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you. ¹⁵ For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters:

³ It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife;
But every fool will be quarrelling.

²⁰ For lack of wood the fire goeth out;
And where there is no whisperer, contention ceaseth.

¹ { Judge not, that ye be not judged. ² For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you. ³ And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? ⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye? ⁵ Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

¹⁵ For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters:

¹¹ and that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, even as we charged you;

¹⁷ He that passeth by, [and] vexeth himself with strife belonging not to him,
Is [like] one that taketh a dog by the ears.
