²¹ And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good.

¹ He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in whom I trust. ³ For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
And from the deadly pestilence. ⁴ He will cover thee with his pinions,
And under his wings shalt thou take refuge:
His truth is a shield and a buckler. ⁵ Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night,
Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; ⁶ For the pestilence that walketh in darkness,
Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at thy side,
And ten thousand at thy right hand;
[But] it shall not come nigh thee. ⁸ Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold,
And see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge!
Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation; ¹⁰ There shall no evil befall thee,
Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent. ¹¹ For he will give his angels charge over thee,
To keep thee in all thy ways. ¹² They shall bear thee up in their hands,
Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. ¹³ Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot. ¹⁴ Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. ¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble:
I will deliver him, and honor him. ¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him,
And show him my salvation.

⁸ As a bird that wandereth from her nest,
So is a man that wandereth from his place.

²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father:

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

³² which indeed is less than all seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the heaven come and lodge in the branches thereof.}

²⁴ Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store-chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!

²⁰ And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

¹¹ I know all the birds of the mountains;
And the wild beasts of the field are mine.

³¹ but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

¹² By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;
They sing among the branches.

²⁶ Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they?

²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? ²⁶ Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they? ²⁷ And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? ²⁸ And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: ²⁹ yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith? ³¹ Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ³² For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. ³³ But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ³⁴ Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.}
