²² A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

¹⁶ Therefore thus said the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.

²¹ And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. ²² They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and my elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

²⁰ Yes, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man's foundation:

⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

²⁴ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house on a rock: ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell not: for it was founded on a rock. ²⁶ And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, which built his house on the sand: ²⁷ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

² In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

¹³ And I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you built not, and you dwell in them; of the vineyards and olive groves which you planted not do you eat.

¹⁰ And it shall be, when the LORD your God shall have brought you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you built not, ¹¹ And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dig, which you digged not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full;

¹ For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁴ For every house is built by some man; but he that built all things is God.
