⁹ Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life: but teach them your sons, and your sons' sons;

⁴ For there is not a word in my tongue, but, see, O LORD, you know it altogether.

⁸ For inquire, I pray you, of the former age, and prepare yourself to the search of their fathers: ⁹ (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow:) ¹⁰ Shall not they teach you, and tell you, and utter words out of their heart?

¹⁸ And it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: ¹⁹ And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them: ²⁰ That his heart be not lifted up above his brothers, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the middle of Israel.

⁴ For whatever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
