¹ You shall not raise a false report: put not your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

¹³ Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile.

⁵ Whoever privately slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off: him that has an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

¹⁶ These six things does the LORD hate: yes, seven are an abomination to him: ¹⁷ A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, ¹⁸ An heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, ¹⁹ A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brothers.

¹⁸ He that hides hatred with lying lips, and he that utters a slander, is a fool.

²⁹ Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

¹³ And with they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

²⁶ If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

²⁰ For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found to you such as you would not: lest there be debates, contentions, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, arrogance, tumults:

¹¹ Speak not evil one of another, brothers. He that speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.

² To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men.

¹⁶ You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor; I am the LORD.

⁸ The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

¹³ A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

²⁰ Where no wood is, there the fire goes out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.

²⁸ A fraudulent man sows strife: and a whisperer separates chief friends.

¹⁹ He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flatters with his lips.
