²⁸ Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am LORD.

²⁶ My son, give me thy heart, and let thine eyes delight in my ways.

¹² That our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth, and our daughters as cornerstones hewn according to the fashion of a palace,

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.

²⁹ Let no corrupt speech go out of your mouth, rather if there is any good word for edification of a need, so that it may give grace to those who hear.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, your reasonable service. ² And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind, for ye to approve what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

¹³ No temptation has taken you except is common to man. But God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted above what ye are able, but with the temptation will also make the way to escape, to enable you to endure.

²² And flee juvenile impulses, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ² Honor thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise, ³ so that it may become well with thee, and thou will be long lasting on the earth. ⁴ And ye fathers, do not exasperate your children, but rear them in the training and admonition of the Lord.

¹ Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shall say, I have no pleasure in them,

⁹ With what shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to thy word.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes. But know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

⁴ Now the word of LORD came to me, saying, ⁵ Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee. I have appointed thee a prophet to the nations. ⁶ Then I said, Ah, lord LORD! Behold, I know not how to speak, for I am a child. ⁷ But LORD said to me, Say not, I am a child. For to whomever I shall send thee thou shall go, and whatever I shall command thee thou shall speak. ⁸ Be not afraid because of them, for I am with thee to deliver thee, says LORD.

¹² Let no man disparage thy youth, but become an example of the faithful, in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
