²⁷ Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall not commit adultery. ²⁸ But I say to you, that every man who looks on a woman to crave her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

⁶ But whoever may cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it is advantageous for him that a donkey-powered millstone were hanged on his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ⁷ Woe to the world because of stumbling-blocks. For it is necessary that the stumbling-blocks come, yet woe to that man through whom the stumbling-block comes.

²³ And those things of the body presumed to be without esteem, we place around these more abundant worth. And our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety,

⁸ I desire therefore the men to pray in every place, lifting up devout hands, apart from anger and argument. ⁹ And similarly, the women to adorn themselves in disciplined decorum, with reverence and sobriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive apparel, ¹⁰ but (which is fitting for women professing godliness) through good works.

¹ Likewise the wives, being subordinate to their own husbands, so that even if any are disobedient to the word, they will be gained without a word by the behavior of the wives, ² observing, in fear, your pure behavior. ³ Of which let it not be the outward world of braiding of hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on apparel, ⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible, of the meek and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
