Bible verses about "enemies" | ACV

Exodus 14:14

14 LORD will fight for you, and ye shall keep silent.

Psalms 37:1-5

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, nor be thou envious against those who work unrighteousness. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in LORD, and do good. Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness. 4 Delight thyself also in LORD, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart. 5 Commit thy way to LORD. Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.

Psalms 71:10

10 For my enemies speak concerning me, and those who watch for my soul take counsel together,

Proverbs 16:7

7 When a man's ways please LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Psalms 35:1-28

1 Strive thou, O LORD, with those who strive with me. Fight thou against those who fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. 3 Draw out the spear also, and stop the way against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, I am thy salvation. 4 Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor who seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and confounded who devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, and the agent of LORD driving them on. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery, and the agent of LORD pursuing them. 7 For without cause they have hid their net for me in a pit. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul. 8 Let destruction come upon him unawares, and let his net that he has hid catch himself. Let him fall in it with destruction. 9 And my soul shall be joyful in LORD. It shall rejoice in his salvation. 10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like thee, who delivers a poor man from him who is too strong for him, yea, a poor and needy man from him who robs him? 11 Unrighteous witnesses rise up, they ask me of things that I know not. 12 They reward me evil for good, to the bereaving of my soul. 13 But as for me, when they were sick my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned into my own bosom. 14 I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as he who bewails his mother. 15 But in my adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The wretches gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not. They tore me, and ceased not. 16 Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth. 17 Lord, how long will thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. 18 I will give thee thanks in the great assembly. I will praise thee among much people. 19 Let not those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me. Neither let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause. 20 For they speak not peace, but they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land. 21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said, Aha, aha, our eye has seen it. 22 Thou have seen it, O LORD. Keep not silence. O Lord, be not far from me. 23 Stir up thyself, and awake to the justice to me, to my cause, my God and my Lord. 24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me. 25 Let them not say in their heart, Aha, so would we have it. Let them not say, We have swallowed him up. 26 Let them be put to shame and confounded together who rejoice at my hurt. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me. 27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, who favor my righteous cause. Yea, let them say continually, LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. 28 And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

Psalms 138:7

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou will revive me. Thou will stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand will save me.

Matthew 5:43-48

43 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, 45 so that ye may become sons of your Father in the heavens, because he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and makes rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 For if ye love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the tax collectors the same? 47 And if ye only greet your friends, what do ye extra? Do not even the tax collectors this way? 48 Ye therefore shall be perfect, even as your Father in the heavens is perfect.

Luke 23:34

34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing. And dividing his garments, they cast a lot.

Psalms 57:6

6 They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They have dug a pit before me. They are fallen into the midst of it themselves. Selah.

Romans 12:20

20 Therefore if thine enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him to drink. For by doing this thou will heap coals of fire upon his head.

Deuteronomy 31:6

6 Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be frightened at them, for LORD thy God, he it is who goes with thee. He will not leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Proverbs 24:17

17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falls, and let not thy heart be glad when he is overthrown,

Romans 12:14

14 Bless those who persecute you. Bless ye and do not curse.

Psalms 109:2-5

2 for they have opened against me the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue. 3 They have also encompassed me about with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause. 4 For my love they are my adversaries, but I make prayer. 5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Luke 6:27-36

27 But I say to you, to those who hear, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. 28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you. 29 To him who strikes thee on the cheek offer the other also, and from him who takes away thy cloak, also do not withhold thy coat. 30 Give to every man who asks thee, and from him who takes away thy personal things do not demand them back. 31 And as ye desire that men would do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32 And if ye love those who love you, what credit is for you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if ye do good to those who do good to you, what credit is for you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if ye lend to whom ye hope to receive, what credit is for you? For even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, despairing nothing, and your reward will be great. And ye will be sons of the Most High, because he is good toward the ungrateful and bad. 36 Become ye therefore merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
