²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. ²¹ And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

³⁴ And Jephthah came to Mizpah to his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances. And she was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter.

¹ Make a joyful noise to LORD, all ye lands. ² Serve LORD with gladness. Come before his presence with singing. ³ Know ye that LORD, he is God. It is he who has made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. ⁴ Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name. ⁵ For LORD is good. ¹¹ They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.

⁴ Again I will build thee, and thou shall be built, O virgin of Israel. Again thou shall be adorned with thy tambourine, and shall go forth in the dances of those who make merry.

¹⁴ And David danced before LORD with all his might. And David was girded with a linen ephod.

⁴ Praise him with timbrel and dance. Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe.

¹ Praise ye LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in the firmament of his power. ² Praise him for his mighty acts. Praise him according to his excellent greatness. ³ Praise him with trumpet sound. Praise him with psaltery and harp. ⁴ Praise him with timbrel and dance. Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe. ⁵ Praise him with loud cymbals. Praise him with high sounding cymbals. ⁶ Let everything that has breath praise LORD. Praise ye LORD.

¹³ Then the virgin shall rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together, for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

¹¹ Thou have turned for me my mourning into dancing. Thou have loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness,

⁴ a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance,

³ Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises to him with timbrel and harp.
