³¹ Then Jesus says to them: All ye will be offended because of me this night. For it is written: I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

¹⁷ He says to him the third time: Simon, son of Jonah, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus says to him: Feed my sheep.

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd; and I know mine, and am known by mine,

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves; be therefore wise as serpents, and simple as doves.

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps' clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.

¹ VERILY, verily, I say to you: He that enters not through the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. ² But he that enters in through the door is a shepherd of the sheep. ³ To him the porter opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. ⁴ And when he has put forth all his own, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. ⁵ And a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers. ⁶ This parable spoke Jesus to them; but they understood not what things they were which he spoke to them. ⁷ Therefore said Jesus to them again: Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. ⁸ All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. ⁹ I am the door. If any one enter in through me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture. ¹⁰ The thief comes not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it abundantly. ¹¹ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. ¹² But he that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep. ¹³ The hireling flees, because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep. ¹⁴ I am the good shepherd; and I know mine, and am known by mine, ¹⁵ as the Father knows me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. ¹⁶ And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold. Them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

³⁶ And seeing the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed, and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd.

⁴ What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it? ⁵ And having found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And coming home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them: Rejoice with me; because I found my sheep which was lost. ⁷ I say to you, that so there will be joy in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, who have no need of repentance.
