¹⁵ No longer do I call you servants; because the servant knows not what his lord does. But I have called you friends because all things that I heard from my Father I made known to you.

⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, the same bears much fruit; because without me ye can do nothing.

²³ And he said to all: If any one will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. ²⁴ For whoever will save his life shall lose it; and whoever may lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it ²⁵ For what is a man profited, when he has gained the whole world, and lost or forfeited himself? ²⁶ For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his glory, and in that of the Father and of the holy angels. ²⁷ And I say to you of a truth, there are some of those standing here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

¹ IF then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, sitting on the right hand of God. ² Set your mind on the things above, not on the things upon the earth. ³ For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, our life, shall be manifested, then will ye also with him be manifested in glory.

²⁷ For all ye who were immersed unto Christ, did put on Christ. ²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is no male and female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if ye are Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, heirs according to the promise.

²² that ye put off, as concerns your former deportment, the old man who is corrupted according to the lusts of deceit, ²³ and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and put on the new man, who was created after God in the righteousness and holiness of the truth.

²⁷ Now ye are the body of Christ, and members each one.

¹⁹ Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom ye have from God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.

¹ BEHOLD what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. For this cause the world knows not us, because it knew not him. ² Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it was never yet manifested what we shall be. We know that if it shall be manifested, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. ³ And every one, that has this hope on him, purifies himself even as he is pure.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

⁹ But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession; that ye should show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ; and no longer do I live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

¹⁷ So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, all things have become new.
