Zephaniah 2:8-15 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the sons of Ammon, by which they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

9 H2416 Therefore as I live, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel, H4124 Surely Moab H5467 shall be as Sodom, H1121 and the sons H5983 of Ammon H6017 as Gomorrah, H4476 even the place possessed H2738 of nettles, H4379 H4417 and saltpits, H5704 H5769 and a perpetual H8077 desolation: H7611 the remainder H5971 of my people H962 [H8799] shall lay them waste, H3499 and the remnant H1471 of my nation H5157 [H8799] shall possess them.

10 H1347 This shall they have for their pride, H2778 [H8765] because they have reproached H1431 [H8686] and magnified H5971 themselves against the people H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts.

11 H3068 The LORD H3372 [H8737] will be terrible H7329 [H8804] to them: for he will famish H430 all the gods H776 of the earth; H7812 [H8691] and men shall worship H376 him, every one H4725 from his place, H339 even all the isles H1471 of the nations.

12 H3569 Ye Cushites H1992 also, ye H2491 shall be slain H2719 by my sword.

13 H5186 [H8799] And he will stretch out H3027 his hand H6828 against the north, H6 [H8762] and destroy H804 Assyria; H7760 [H8799] and will make H5210 Nineveh H8077 a desolation, H6723 and dry H4057 like a wilderness.

14 H5739 And flocks H7257 [H8804] shall lie down H8432 in the midst H2416 of her, all the beasts H1471 of the nations: H6893 both the cormorant H7090 and the bittern H3885 [H8799] shall lodge H3730 in her upper lintels; H6963 their voice H7891 [H8787] shall sing H2474 in the windows; H2721 dryness H5592 shall be in the thresholds: H6168 [H8765] for he shall uncover H731 the cedar work.

15 H5947 This is the rejoicing H5892 city H3427 [H8802] that dwelt H983 in security, H559 [H8802] that said H3824 in her heart, H657 I am, and there is none besides H8047 me: how is she become a desolation, H2416 a place for beasts H4769 to lie down in! H5674 [H8802] every one that passeth by H8319 [H8799] her shall hiss, H5128 [H8686] and shake H3027 his hand.
