Judges 3:15-30

  15 H1121 But when the sons H3478 of Israel H2199 [H8799] cried H3068 to the LORD, H3068 the LORD H6965 [H8686] raised them up H3467 [H8688] a liberator, H164 Ehud H1121 the son H1617 of Gera, H1145 a Benjamite, H376 a man H334 H3225 lefthanded: H3027 and by him H1121 the sons H3478 of Israel H7971 [H8799] sent H4503 tribute H5700 to Eglon H4428 king H4124 of Moab.

  16 H164 But Ehud H6213 [H8799] made H2719 him a dagger H8147 which had two H6366 edges, H1574 of a cubit H753 length; H2296 [H8799] and he girded H4055 it under his raiment H3225 upon his right H3409 thigh.

  17 H7126 [H8686] And he brought H4503 the tribute H5700 to Eglon H4428 king H4124 of Moab: H5700 and Eglon H3966 was a very H1277 fat H376 man.

  18 H3615 [H8765] And when he had finished H7126 [H8687] offering H4503 the tribute, H7971 [H8762] he sent away H5971 the people H5375 [H8802] that bore H4503 the tribute.

  19 H7725 [H8804] But he himself turned back H6456 at the quarries H1537 that were by Gilgal, H559 [H8799] and said, H5643 I have a secret H1697 errand H4428 to thee, O king: H559 [H8799] who said, H2013 [H8761] Keep silence. H5975 [H8802] And all that stood H3318 [H8799] by him went out from him.

  20 H164 And Ehud H935 [H8804] came H3427 [H8802] to him; and he was sitting H4747 in a summer H5944 parlour, H164 which he had for himself alone. And Ehud H559 [H8799] said, H1697 I have a message H430 from God H6965 [H8799] to thee. And he arose H3678 from his seat.

  21 H164 And Ehud H7971 [H8799] put forth H8040 his left H3027 hand, H3947 [H8799] and took H2719 the dagger H3225 from his right H3409 thigh, H8628 [H8799] and thrust H990 it into his belly:

  22 H5325 And the handle H935 [H8799] also entered H310 after H3851 the blade; H2459 and the fat H5462 [H8799] closed H1157 upon H3851 the blade, H8025 [H8804] so that he could not draw H2719 the dagger H990 out of his belly; H6574 and the dirt H3318 [H8799] came out.

  23 H164 Then Ehud H3318 [H8799] went forth H4528 through the porch, H5462 [H8799] and shut H1817 the doors H5944 of the parlour H5274 [H8804] upon him, and locked them.

  24 H3318 [H8804] When he had gone out, H5650 his servants H935 [H8804] came; H7200 [H8799] and when they saw H1817 that, behold, the doors H5944 of the parlour H5274 [H8803] were locked, H559 [H8799] they said, H5526 [H8688] Surely he covereth H7272 his feet H4747 in his summer H2315 chamber.

  25 H2342 [H8799] And they tarried H954 [H8800] till they were pale: H6605 [H8802] and, behold, he opened H1817 not the doors H5944 of the parlour; H3947 [H8799] therefore they took H4668 a key, H6605 [H8799] and opened H113 them: and, behold, their sovereign H5307 [H8802] lay H4191 [H8801] dead H776 on the earth.

  26 H164 And Ehud H4422 [H8738] escaped H4102 [H8699] while they tarried, H5674 [H8804] and passed beyond H6456 the quarries, H4422 [H8735] and escaped H8167 to Seirath.

  27 H935 [H8800] And it came to pass, when he had come, H8628 [H8799] that he blew H7782 a shofar H2022 in the mountain H669 of Ephraim, H1121 and the sons H3478 of Israel H3381 [H8799] went down H2022 with him from the mount, H6440 and he at the face of them.

  28 H559 [H8799] And he said H7291 H310 [H8798] to them, Follow H3068 me: for the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath given H341 [H8802] your enemies H4124 the Moabites H3027 into your hand. H3381 [H8799] And they went down H310 after H3920 [H8799] him, and took H4569 the fords H3383 of Jordan H4124 toward Moab, H5414 [H8804] and permitted H376 not a man H5674 [H8800] to pass over.

  29 H5221 [H8686] And they slew H4124 of Moab H6256 at that time H6235 about ten H505 thousand H376 men, H8082 all stout, H376 and all men H2428 of valour; H4422 [H8738] and there escaped H376 not a man.

  30 H4124 So Moab H3665 [H8735] was subdued H3117 that day H3027 under the hand H3478 of Israel. H776 And the land H8252 [H8799] had rest H8084 eighty H8141 years.
