Habakkuk 2 I will stand upon my watch, and station myself upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say to me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

8 H7997 [H8804] Because thou hast laid waste H7227 many H1471 nations, H3499 all the remnant H5971 of the people H7997 [H8799] shall lay thee waste; H120 because of men's H1818 blood, H2555 and for the violence H776 of the land, H7151 of the city, H3427 [H8802] and of all that dwell in it.

9 H1945 Woe H1214 [H8802] to him that coveteth H7451 an evil H1215 covetousness H1004 to his house, H7760 [H8800] that he may set H7064 his nest H4791 on high, H5337 [H8736] that he may be delivered H3709 from the power H7451 of evil!

10 H3289 0 Thou gavest H1322 shameful H3289 [H8804] counsel H1004 to thy house H7096 [H8800] by cutting off H7227 many H5971 people, H2398 [H8802] and hast sinned H5315 against thy breath.

11 H68 For the stone H2199 [H8799] shall cry out H7023 of the wall, H3714 and the beam out H6086 of the timber H6030 [H8799] shall answer it.

12 H1945 Woe H1129 [H8802] to him that buildeth H5892 a town H1818 with blood, H3559 [H8790] and establisheth H7151 a city H5766 by distortion!

13 H3068 Behold, is it not from the LORD H6635 of hosts H5971 that the people H3021 [H8799] shall labour H1767 only for H784 fire, H3816 and the folk H3286 [H8799] shall weary H1767 H7385 themselves for nothing?

14 H776 For the earth H4390 [H8735] shall be filled H3045 [H8800] with the knowledge H3519 of the glory H3068 of the LORD, H4325 as the waters H3680 [H8762] cover H3220 the sea.

15 H1945 Woe H7453 to him that giveth his neighbour H8248 [H8688] drink, H5596 [H8764] that puttest H2573 thy bottle H7937 [H8763] to him, and makest him drunk H5027 [H8687] also, that thou mayest look H4589 on their nakedness!

16 H7646 [H8804] Thou art filled H7036 with shame H3519 for glory: H8354 [H8798] drink H6188 [H8734] thou also, and let thy shame come upon thee: H3563 the cup H3068 of the LORD'S H3225 right hand H5437 [H8735] shall be turned H7022 to thee, and utter shame H3519 shall be on thy glory.

17 H2555 For the violence H3844 of Lebanon H3680 [H8762] shall cover H7701 thee, and the spoil H929 of beasts, H2865 [H8686] which made them afraid, H120 because of men's H1818 blood, H2555 and for the violence H776 of the land, H7151 of the city, H3427 [H8802] and of all that dwell in it.

18 H3276 [H8689] What profiteth H6459 the graven image H3335 [H8802] that its maker H6458 [H8804] hath engraved H4541 it; the molten image, H3384 [H8688] and a teacher H8267 of lies, H3335 [H8802] that the maker H3336 of his work H982 [H8804] trusteth H6213 [H8800] in it, to make H483 dumb H457 idols?

19 H1945 Woe H559 [H8802] to him that saith H6086 to the wood, H6974 [H8685] Awake; H1748 to the dumb H68 stone, H5782 [H8798] Arise, H3384 [H8686] it shall teach! H8610 [H8803] Behold, it is laid H2091 over with gold H3701 and silver, H7307 and there is no spirit H7130 at all within it.

20 H3068 But the LORD H6944 is in his holy H1964 temple: H776 let all the earth H2013 [H8761] keep silence H6440 at the face of him.
