Deuteronomy 25 If there shall be a controversy between men, and they come to judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

1 H7379 If there shall be a controversy H582 between men, H5066 [H8738] and they come H4941 to judgment, H8199 [H8804] that the judges may judge H6663 [H8689] them; then they shall justify H6662 the righteous, H7561 [H8689] and condemn H7563 the wicked.

2 H7563 And it shall be, if the wicked man H1121 be worthy H5221 [H8687] to be beaten, H8199 [H8802] that the judge H5307 [H8689] shall cause him to lie down, H5221 [H8689] and to be beaten H6440 before his face, H1767 according H7564 to his fault, H4557 by a certain number.

3 H705 Forty H5221 [H8686] stripes H3254 [H8686] he may give him, and not exceed: H3254 [H8686] lest, if he should exceed, H5221 [H8687] and beat H7227 him above these with many H4347 stripes, H251 then thy brother H7034 H5869 [H8738] should seem vile to thee.

4 H2629 [H8799] Thou shalt not muzzle H7794 the ox H1778 [H8800] when he treadeth out the grain.

5 H251 If brethren H3427 [H8799] shall dwell H3162 together, H259 and one H4191 [H8804] of them shall die, H1121 and have no child, H802 the wife H4191 [H8801] of the dead H2351 shall not marry outside H2114 [H8801] the family to a strange H376 man: H2993 her husband's brother H935 [H8799] shall go in H3947 [H8804] to her, and take H802 her to him for a wife, H2992 [H8762] and perform the duty of an husband's brother to her.

6 H1060 And it shall be, that the firstborn H3205 [H8799] which she beareth H6965 [H8799] shall rise H8034 in the name H251 of his brother H4191 [H8801] who is dead, H8034 that his name H4229 [H8735] may not be blotted out H3478 from Israel.

7 H376 And if the man H2654 [H8799] shall not desire H3947 [H8800] to take H2994 his brother's wife, H2994 then let his brother's wife H5927 [H8804] go up H8179 to the gate H2205 to the elders, H559 [H8804] and say, H2993 My husband's brother H3985 [H8765] refuseth H6965 [H8687] to raise up H251 to his brother H8034 a name H3478 in Israel, H14 [H8804] he will H2992 [H8763] not perform the duty of my husband's brother.

8 H2205 Then the elders H5892 of his city H7121 [H8804] shall call H1696 [H8765] him, and speak H5975 [H8804] to him: and if he shall stand H559 [H8804] to it, and say, H2654 [H8804] I desire H3947 [H8800] not to take her;

9 H2994 Then shall his brother's wife H5066 [H8738] come H5869 to him in the presence H2205 of the elders, H2502 [H8804] and loose H5275 his shoe H7272 from off his foot, H3417 [H8804] and spit H6440 in his face, H6030 [H8804] and shall answer H559 [H8804] and say, H6213 [H8735] So shall it be done H376 to that man H1129 [H8799] that will not build up H251 his brother's H1004 house.

10 H8034 And his name H7121 [H8738] shall be called H3478 in Israel, H1004 The house H5275 of him that hath his shoe H2502 [H8803] loosed.

11 H582 When men H5327 [H8735] strive H3162 together H251 H376 one with another, H802 and the wife H259 of the one H7126 [H8804] draweth near H5337 [H8687] to deliver H376 her husband H3027 from the hand H5221 [H8688] of him that smiteth H7971 [H8804] him, and putteth forth H3027 her hand, H2388 [H8689] and taketh H4016 him by the secrets:

12 H7112 [H8804] Then thou shalt cut off H3709 her palm, H5869 thine eye H2347 [H8799] shall not pity her.

13 H3599 Thou shalt not have in thy bag H68 differing weights, H1419 a great H6996 and a small.

14 H1004 Thou shalt not have in thy house H374 differing measures, H1419 a great H6996 and a small.

15 H8003 But thou shalt have a perfect H6664 and just H68 weight, H8003 a perfect H6664 and just H374 measure H3117 shalt thou have: that thy days H748 [H8686] may be lengthened H127 in the soil H3068 which the LORD H430 thy God H5414 [H8802] giveth thee.

16 H6213 [H8802] For all that do H428 such things, H6213 [H8802] and all that do H5766 distortedly, H8441 are an abomination H3068 to the LORD H430 thy God.

17 H2142 [H8800] Remember H6002 what Amalek H6213 [H8804] did H1870 to thee by the way, H3318 [H8800] when ye had come forth H4714 from Egypt;

18 H7136 [H8804] How he met H1870 thee by the way, H2179 [H8762] and smote those behind H2826 [H8737] thee, even all that were feeble H310 behind H5889 thee, when thou wast faint H3023 and weary; H3373 and he feared H430 not God.

19 H3068 Therefore it shall be, when the LORD H430 thy God H5117 [H8687] hath given thee rest H341 [H8802] from all thy enemies H5439 on all sides, H776 in the land H3068 which the LORD H430 thy God H5414 [H8802] giveth H5159 thee for an inheritance H3423 [H8800] to possess H4229 [H8799] it, that thou shalt blot out H2143 the remembrance H6002 of Amalek H8064 from under heaven; H7911 [H8799] thou shalt not forget it.
