Amos 3 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O sons of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

2 H3045 [H8804] You only have I known H4940 of all the families H127 of the soil: H6485 [H8799] therefore I will punish H5771 you for all your perversities.

3 H8147 Can two H3212 [H8799] walk H3162 together, H1115 except H3259 [H8738] they are agreed?

4 H9008 Will H738 a lion H7580 [H8799] roar H9003 in H3293 the forest, H9002 when H9033 he H369 hath no H2964 prey? H9008 will H3715 a young lion H5414 [H8799] give out H9023 his H6963 voice H9006 from H9023 his H4585 den, H518 if H3920 [H8804] he hath taken H1115 nothing?

5 H6833 Can a bird H5307 [H8799] fall H6341 in a snare H776 upon the earth, H4170 where no trap H5927 [H8799] is for him? shall one take up H6341 a snare H127 from the soil, H3920 [H8799] and have taken H3920 [H8800] nothing at all?

6 H7782 Shalt a shofar H8628 [H8735] be blown H5892 in the city, H5971 and the people H2729 [H8799] not be afraid? H7451 shall there be evil H5892 in a city, H3068 and the LORD H6213 [H8804] hath not done it?

7 H136 Surely the Sovereign H3069 LORD H6213 [H8799] will do H1697 nothing, H1540 [H8804] but he revealeth H5475 his secret H5650 to his servants H5030 the prophets.

8 H738 The lion H7580 [H8804] hath roared, H3808 who will not H3372 [H8799] fear? H136 the Sovereign H3069 LORD H1696 [H8765] hath spoken, H5012 [H8735] who can but prophesy?

9 H8085 [H8685] Proclaim H759 in the palaces H795 at Ashdod, H759 and in the palaces H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H559 [H8798] and say, H622 [H8734] Assemble H2022 yourselves upon the mountains H8111 of Samaria, H7200 [H8798] and behold H7227 the great H4103 tumults H7130 in the midst H6217 of it, and the oppressed H8432 in the midst of it.

12 H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD; H7462 [H8802] As the shepherd H5337 [H8686] taketh out H6310 of the mouth H738 of the lion H8147 two H3767 legs, H915 or a piece H241 of an ear; H1121 so shall the sons H3478 of Israel H5337 [H8735] be taken out H3427 [H8802] that dwell H8111 in Samaria H6285 in the corner H4296 of a bed, H1833 and in Damascus H6210 in a couch.

13 H8085 [H8798] Hear H5749 [H8685] ye, and testify H1004 in the house H3290 of Jacob, H5002 [H8803] saith H136 the Sovereign H3069 LORD, H430 the God H6635 of hosts,

14 H3117 That in the day H6485 [H8800] that I shall judge H6588 the revolts H3478 of Israel H6485 [H8804] upon him I will also judge H4196 the altars H1008 of Bethel: H7161 and the horns H4196 of the altar H1438 [H8738] shall be cut off, H5307 [H8804] and fall H776 to the earth.

15 H5221 [H8689] And I will smite H2779 the winter H1004 house H7019 with the summer H1004 house; H1004 and the houses H8127 of ivory H6 [H8804] shall be lost, H7227 and the great H1004 houses H5486 [H8804] shall have an end, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD.
