2 Samuel 8:1-18 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 H5221 [H8686] And he smote H4124 Moab, H4058 [H8762] and measured H2256 them with a line, H7901 [H8687] casting them down H776 to the earth; H8147 even with two H2256 lines H4058 [H8762] he measured H4191 [H8687] to put to death, H4393 and with one full H2256 line H2421 [H8687] to keep alive. H4124 And so the Moabites H1732 became David's H5650 servants, H5375 [H8802] and brought H4503 gifts.

3 H1732 David H5221 [H8686] smote H1909 also Hadadezer, H1121 the son H7340 of Rehob, H4428 king H6678 of Zobah, H3212 [H8800] as he went H7725 [H8687] to recover H3027 his border H5104 at the river H6578 Euphrates.

4 H1732 And David H3920 [H8799] took H505 from him a thousand H7651 chariots, and seven H3967 hundred H6571 horsemen, H6242 and twenty H505 thousand H376 H7273 footmen: H1732 and David H6131 [H8762] hamstrung H7393 all the chariot H3498 [H8686] horses, but reserved H3967 of them for an hundred H7393 chariots.

5 H758 And when the Syrians H1834 of Damascus H935 [H8799] came H5826 [H8800] to help H1909 Hadadezer H4428 king H6678 of Zobah, H1732 David H5221 [H8686] slew H758 of the Syrians H8147 two H6242 and twenty H505 thousand H376 men.

6 H1732 Then David H7760 [H8799] put H5333 garrisons H758 in Syria H1834 of Damascus: H758 and the Syrians H5650 became servants H1732 to David, H5375 [H8802] and brought H4503 gifts. H3068 And the LORD H3467 [H8686] liberated H1732 David H1980 [H8804] wherever he went.

7 H1732 And David H3947 [H8799] took H7982 the shields H2091 of gold H5650 that were on the servants H1909 of Hadadezer, H935 [H8686] and brought H3389 them to Jerusalem.

8 H984 And from Betah, H1268 and from Berothai, H5892 cities H1909 of Hadadezer, H4428 king H1732 David H3947 [H8804] took H3966 very H7235 [H8687] much H5178 brass.

9 H8583 When Toi H4428 king H2574 of Hamath H8085 [H8799] heard H1732 that David H5221 [H8689] had smitten H2428 all the host H1909 of Hadadezer,

10 H8583 Then Toi H7971 [H8799] sent H3141 Joram H1121 his son H4428 to king H1732 David, H7592 H7965 [H8800] to greet H1288 [H8763] him, and to bless H3898 [H8738] him, because he had fought H1909 against Hadadezer, H5221 [H8686] and smitten H1909 him: for Hadadezer H376 H4421 had wars H8583 with Toi. H3027 And Joram brought with him H3627 vessels H3701 of silver, H3627 and vessels H2091 of gold, H3627 and vessels H5178 of brass:

11 H4428 Which also king H1732 David H6942 [H8689] dedicated H3068 to the LORD, H3701 with the silver H2091 and gold H6942 [H8689] that he had dedicated H1471 of all nations H3533 [H8765] which he subdued;

12 H758 Of Syria, H4124 and of Moab, H1121 and of the sons H5983 of Ammon, H6430 and of the Philistines, H6002 and of Amalek, H7998 and of the spoil H1909 of Hadadezer, H1121 son H7340 of Rehob, H4428 king H6678 of Zobah.

13 H1732 And David H6213 [H8799] made H8034 him a name H7725 [H8800] when he returned H5221 [H8687] from smiting H758 of the Syrians H1516 in the valley H4417 of salt, H8083 H6240 being eighteen H505 thousand men.

14 H7760 [H8799] And he put H5333 garrisons H123 in Edom; H123 throughout all Edom H7760 [H8804] he put H5333 garrisons, H123 and all they of Edom H1732 became David's H5650 servants. H3068 And the LORD H3467 [H8686] liberated H1732 David H1980 [H8804] wherever he went.

15 H1732 And David H4427 [H8799] reigned H3478 over all Israel; H1732 and David H6213 [H8802] executed H4941 judgment H6666 and justice H5971 to all his people.

18 H1141 And Benaiah H1121 the son H3077 of Jehoiada H3774 was over both the Cherethites H6432 and the Pelethites; H1732 and David's H1121 sons H3548 were chief rulers.
