2 Samuel 7 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest on every side from all his enemies;

1 H4428 And it came to pass, when the king H3427 [H8804] sat H1004 in his house, H3068 and the LORD H5117 [H8689] had given him rest H5439 on every side H341 [H8802] from all his enemies;

2 H4428 That the king H559 [H8799] said H5416 to Nathan H5030 the prophet, H7200 [H8798] See H3427 [H8802] now, I dwell H1004 in an house H730 of cedar, H727 but the ark H430 of God H3427 [H8802] dwelleth H8432 within H3407 curtains.

3 H5416 And Nathan H559 [H8799] said H4428 to the king, H3212 [H8798] Go, H6213 [H8798] do H3824 all that is in thy heart; H3068 for the LORD is with thee.

4 H3915 And it came to pass that night, H1697 that the word H3068 of the LORD H5416 came to Nathan, H559 [H8800] saying,

5 H3212 [H8798] Go H559 [H8804] and tell H5650 my servant H1732 David, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD, H1129 [H8799] Shalt thou build H1004 me an house H3427 [H8800] for me to dwell in?

6 H3427 [H8804] Though I have not dwelt H1004 in any house H3117 since the time H5927 [H8687] that I brought H1121 the sons H3478 of Israel H4714 out of Egypt, H3117 even to this day, H1980 [H8693] but have walked H168 in a tent H4908 and in a tabernacle.

7 H1980 [H8694] In all the places in which I have walked H1121 with all the sons H3478 of Israel H1696 [H8765] have I spoken H1697 a word H259 with any H7626 of the tribes H3478 of Israel, H6680 [H8765] whom I commanded H7462 [H8800] to feed H5971 my people H3478 Israel, H559 [H8800] saying, H1129 [H8804] Why do ye not build H1004 me an house H730 of cedar?

8 H559 [H8799] Now therefore so shalt thou say H5650 to my servant H1732 David, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H3947 [H8804] I took H5116 thee from the sheepfold, H310 from following H6629 the sheep, H5057 to be ruler H5971 over my people, H3478 over Israel:

9 H1980 [H8804] And I was with thee wherever thou wentest, H3772 [H8686] and have cut off H341 [H8802] all thy enemies H6440 out of thy sight, H6213 [H8804] and have made H1419 thee a great H8034 name, H8034 like the name H1419 of the great H776 men that are in the earth.

10 H7760 [H8804] Moreover I will appoint H4725 a place H5971 for my people H3478 Israel, H5193 [H8804] and will plant H7931 [H8804] them, that they may dwell H7264 [H8799] in a place of their own, and move H1121 no more; neither shall the sons H5766 of distortion H6031 [H8763] afflict H3254 [H8686] them any more, H7223 as in times past,

11 H3117 And as since the time H6680 [H8765] that I commanded H8199 [H8802] judges H5971 to be over my people H3478 Israel, H5117 [H8689] and have caused thee to rest H341 [H8802] from all thy enemies. H3068 Also the LORD H5046 [H8689] telleth H6213 [H8799] thee that he will make H1004 thee an house.

12 H3117 And when thy days H4390 [H8799] shall be fulfilled, H7901 [H8804] and thou shalt sleep H1 with thy fathers, H6965 [H8689] I will set up H2233 thy seed H310 after H3318 [H8799] thee, who shall proceed H4578 out of thine own bowels, H3559 [H8689] and I will establish H4467 his kingdom.

13 H1129 [H8799] He shall build H1004 an house H8034 for my name, H3559 [H8790] and I will establish H3678 the throne H4467 of his kingdom H5704 for H5769 ever.

14 H1 I will be his father, H1121 and he shall be my son. H5753 [H8687] If he shall commit crookedness, H3198 [H8689] I will chasten H7626 him with the rod H582 of men, H5061 and with the stripes H1121 of the sons H120 of men:

15 H2617 But my mercy H5493 [H8799] shall not depart H5493 [H8689] from him, as I took H7586 it from Saul, H5493 [H8689] whom I put away H6440 at the face of thee.

16 H1004 And thy house H4467 and thy kingdom H539 [H8738] shall be established H5704 for H5769 ever H6440 at the face of H3678 thee: thy throne H3559 [H8737] shall be established H5704 for H5769 ever.

17 H1697 According to all these words, H2384 and according to all this vision, H5416 so did Nathan H1696 [H8765] speak H1732 to David.

18 H4428 Then king H1732 David H935 [H8799] went in, H3427 [H8799] and sat H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD, H559 [H8799] and he said, H136 Who am I, O Sovereign H3069 LORD? H1004 and what is my house, H935 [H8689] that thou hast brought H1988 me thus far?

19 H6994 [H8799] And this was yet a small thing H5869 in thine eyes, H136 O Sovereign H3069 LORD; H1696 [H8762] but thou hast spoken H5650 also of thy servant's H1004 house H7350 for a great while to come. H8452 And is this the manner H120 of man, H136 O Sovereign H3069 LORD?

20 H3254 0 And what can H1732 David H1696 [H8763] say H3254 [H8686] more H136 to thee? for thou, Sovereign H3069 LORD, H3045 [H8804] knowest H5650 thy servant.

21 H1697 For thy word's H3820 sake, and according to thy own heart, H6213 [H8804] hast thou done H1420 all these great things, H5650 to make thy servant H3045 [H8687] know them.

22 H1431 [H8804] Therefore thou art great, H3068 O LORD H430 God: H430 for there is none like thee, neither is there any God H2108 besides H8085 [H8804] thee, according to all that we have heard H241 with our ears.

23 H259 And what one H1471 nation H776 in the earth H5971 is like thy people, H3478 even like Israel, H430 whom God H1980 [H8804] went H6299 [H8800] to ransom H5971 for a people H7760 [H8800] to himself, and to make H8034 him a name, H6213 [H8800] and to do H1420 for you great things H3372 [H8737] and terrible, H776 for thy land, H6440 at the face of H5971 thy people, H6299 [H8804] whom thou didst ransom H4714 to thee from Egypt, H1471 from the nations H430 and their gods?

24 H3559 [H8787] For thou hast confirmed H5971 to thyself thy people H3478 Israel H5971 to be a people H5704 to thee for H5769 ever: H3068 and thou, LORD, H1961 [H8804] art become H430 their God.

25 H3068 And now, O LORD H430 God, H1697 the word H1696 [H8765] that thou hast spoken H5650 concerning thy servant, H1004 and concerning his house, H6965 [H8685] raise H5704 it for H5769 ever, H6213 [H8798] and do H1696 [H8765] as thou hast said.

26 H8034 And let thy name H1431 [H8799] be magnified H5704 for H5769 ever, H559 [H8800] saying, H3068 The LORD H6635 of hosts H430 is the God H3478 over Israel: H1004 and let the house H5650 of thy servant H1732 David H3559 [H8737] be established H6440 at the face of thee.

27 H3068 For thou, O LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 God H3478 of Israel, H1540 H241 [H8804] hast revealed H5650 to thy servant, H559 [H8800] saying, H1129 [H8799] I will build H1004 thee an house: H5650 therefore hath thy servant H4672 [H8804] found H3820 in his heart H6419 [H8692] to pray H8605 this prayer to thee.

28 H136 And now, O Sovereign H3069 LORD, H430 thou art that God, H1697 and thy words H571 are true, H1696 [H8762] and thou hast promised H2896 this goodness H5650 to thy servant:

29 H2974 [H8685] Therefore now let it please H1288 [H8761] thee to bless H1004 the house H5650 of thy servant, H5769 that it may continue to the age H6440 at the face of H136 thee: for thou, O Sovereign H3069 LORD, H1696 [H8765] hast spoken H1293 it: and with thy blessing H1004 let the house H5650 of thy servant H1288 [H8792] be blessed H5769 to the age.
