2 Samuel 18:9-18

  9 H53 And Absalom H7122 [H8735] met H6440 H5650 the servants H1732 of David. H53 And Absalom H7392 [H8802] rode H6505 upon a mule, H6505 and the mule H935 [H8799] went H7730 under the thick boughs H1419 of a great H424 oak, H7218 and his head H2388 [H8799] caught fast H424 in the oak, H5414 [H8714] and he was left hanging H8064 between the heaven H776 and the earth; H6505 and the mule H5674 [H8804] that was under him went away.

  10 H259 And a certain H376 man H7200 [H8799] saw H5046 [H8686] it, and told H3097 Joab, H559 [H8799] and said, H7200 [H8804] Behold, I saw H53 Absalom H8518 [H8803] hanging H424 in an oak.

  11 H3097 And Joab H559 [H8799] said H376 to the man H5046 [H8688] that told H7200 [H8804] him, And, behold, thou sawest H5221 [H8689] him, and why didst thou not smite H776 him there to the earth? H5414 [H8800] and I would have given H6235 thee ten H3701 shekels of silver, H259 and a H2290 belt.

  12 H376 And the man H559 [H8799] said H3097 to Joab, H3863 Though H8254 [H8802] I should receive H505 a thousand H3701 shekels of silver H3709 in my palm, H7971 [H8799] yet would I not put forth H3027 my hand H4428 against the king's H1121 son: H241 for in our hearing H4428 the king H6680 [H8765] charged H52 thee and Abishai H863 and Ittai, H559 [H8800] saying, H8104 [H8798] Beware H5288 that none touch the young man H53 Absalom.

  13 H176 Otherwise H6213 [H8804] I should have wrought H8267 falsehood H5315 against my own life: H1697 for there is no matter H3582 [H8735] hid H4428 from the king, H3320 [H8691] and thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against me.

  14 H559 [H8799] Then said H3097 Joab, H3176 [H8686] I may not tarry H6440 thus with thee. H3947 [H8799] And he took H7969 three H7626 spears H3709 in his palm, H8628 [H8799] and thrust H3820 them through the heart H53 of Absalom, H2416 while he was yet alive H424 in the midst of the oak.

  15 H6235 And ten H5288 young men H5375 [H8802] that bore H3097 Joab's H3627 armour H5437 [H8799] surrounded H5221 [H8686] and smote H53 Absalom, H4191 [H8686] and slew him.

  16 H3097 And Joab H8628 [H8799] blew H7782 the shofar, H5971 and the people H7725 [H8799] returned H7291 H310 [H8800] from pursuing H3478 Israel: H3097 for Joab H2820 [H8804] restrained H5971 the people.

  17 H3947 [H8799] And they took H53 Absalom, H7993 [H8686] and cast H1419 him into a great H6354 pit H3293 in the forest, H5324 [H8686] and laid H3966 a very H1419 great H1530 heap H68 of stones H3478 upon him: and all Israel H5127 [H8804] fled H376 every one H168 to his tent.

  18 H53 Now Absalom H2416 in his lifetime H3947 [H8804] had taken H5324 [H8686] and built H4678 for himself a pillar, H4428 which is in the king's H6010 dale: H559 [H8804] for he said, H1121 I have no son H8034 to keep my name H2142 [H8687] in remembrance: H7121 [H8799] and he called H4678 the pillar H8034 after his own name: H7121 [H8735] and it is called H3117 to this day, H53 Absalom's H3027 place.
