2 Chronicles 21 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

1 H3092 Now Jehoshaphat H7901 [H8799] slept H1 with his fathers, H6912 [H8735] and was buried H1 with his fathers H5892 in the city H1732 of David. H3088 And Jehoram H1121 his son H4427 [H8799] reigned in his stead.

2 H251 And he had brethren H1121 the sons H3092 of Jehoshaphat, H5838 Azariah, H3171 and Jehiel, H2148 and Zechariah, H5838 and Azariah, H4317 and Michael, H8203 and Shephatiah: H1121 all these were the sons H3092 of Jehoshaphat H4428 king H3478 of Israel.

3 H1 And their father H5414 [H8799] gave H7227 them great H4979 gifts H3701 of silver, H2091 and of gold, H4030 and of precious things, H4694 with fortified H5892 cities H3063 in Judah: H4467 but the kingdom H5414 [H8804] he gave H3088 to Jehoram; H1060 because he was the firstborn.

4 H3088 Now when Jehoram H6965 [H8799] had risen H4467 to the kingdom H1 of his father, H2388 [H8691] he strengthened H2026 [H8799] himself, and slew H251 all his brethren H2719 with the sword, H8269 and others also of the princes H3478 of Israel.

5 H3088 Jehoram H7970 was thirty H8147 and two H8141 years H1121 old H4427 [H8800] when he began to reign, H4427 [H8804] and he reigned H8083 eight H8141 years H3389 in Jerusalem.

6 H3212 [H8799] And he walked H1870 in the way H4428 of the kings H3478 of Israel, H6213 [H8804] as did H1004 the house H256 of Ahab: H1323 for he had the daughter H256 of Ahab H802 for a wife: H6213 [H8799] and he wrought H7451 that which was evil H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the LORD.

7 H3068 Yet the LORD H14 [H8804] would H7843 [H8687] not decay H1004 the house H1732 of David, H1285 because of the covenant H3772 [H8804] that he had made H1732 with David, H559 [H8804] and as he promised H5414 [H8800] to give H5216 a light H1121 to him and to his sons H3117 for ever.

8 H3117 In his days H123 the Edomites H6586 [H8804] revolted H3027 from under the dominion H3063 of Judah, H4427 [H8686] and made H4428 themselves a king.

9 H3088 Then Jehoram H5674 [H8799] went forth H8269 with his princes, H7393 and all his chariots H6965 [H8804] with him: and he rose H3915 by night, H5221 [H8686] and smote H123 the Edomites H5437 [H8802] who surrounded him, H8269 and the captains H7393 of the chariots.

10 H123 So the Edomites H6586 [H8799] revolted H3027 from under the hand H3063 of Judah H3117 to this day. H6256 The same time H3841 also did Libnah H6586 [H8799] revolt H3027 from under his hand; H5800 [H8804] because he had forsaken H3068 the LORD H430 God H1 of his fathers.

11 H6213 [H8804] Moreover he made H1116 high places H2022 in the mountains H3063 of Judah, H3427 [H8802] and caused the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem H2181 [H8686] to play the harlot, H5080 [H8686] and compelled H3063 Judah to do the same.

12 H935 [H8799] And there came H4385 a writing H452 to him from Elijah H5030 the prophet, H559 [H8800] saying, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H430 God H1732 of David H1 thy father, H1980 [H8804] Because thou hast not walked H1870 in the ways H3092 of Jehoshaphat H1 thy father, H1870 nor in the ways H609 of Asa H4428 king H3063 of Judah,

13 H3212 [H8799] But hast walked H1870 in the way H4428 of the kings H3478 of Israel, H3063 and hast made Judah H3427 [H8802] and the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem H2181 [H8686] to play the harlot, H2181 [H8687] like the harlotries H1004 of the house H256 of Ahab, H2026 [H8804] and also hast slain H251 thy brethren H1 of thy father's H1004 house, H2896 who were better than thyself:

14 H1419 Behold, with a great H4046 plague H3068 will the LORD H5062 [H8802] smite H5971 thy people, H1121 and thy sons, H802 and thy wives, H7399 and all thy goods:

15 H7227 And thou shalt have great H2483 sickness H4245 by disease H4578 of thy bowels, H4578 until thy bowels H3318 [H8799] fall out H2483 by reason of the sickness H3117 day H3117 by day.

16 H3068 Moreover the LORD H5782 [H8686] stirred up H3088 against Jehoram H7307 the spirit H6430 of the Philistines, H6163 and of the Arabians, H5921 H3027 that were near H3569 the Cushites:

17 H5927 [H8799] And they came up H3063 into Judah, H1234 [H8799] and broke H7617 [H8799] into it, and carried away H7399 all the substance H4672 [H8737] that was found H4428 in the king's H1004 house, H1121 and his sons H802 also, and his wives; H1121 so that there was not a son H7604 [H8738] left H3059 to him, except Jehoahaz, H6996 the youngest H1121 of his sons.

18 H310 And after H3068 all this the LORD H5062 [H8804] smote H4578 him in his bowels H369 H4832 with an incurable H2483 disease.

19 H3117 And it came to pass, that in process of time, H3318 H6256 [H8800] after H7093 the end H8147 of two H3117 years, H4578 his bowels H3318 [H8804] fell out H5973 by reason H2483 of his sickness: H4191 [H8799] so he died H7451 of grievous H8463 diseases. H5971 And his people H6213 [H8804] made H8316 no burning H8316 for him, like the burning H1 of his fathers.

20 H7970 Thirty H8147 and two H1121 years old H4427 [H8800] was he when he began to reign, H4427 [H8804] and he reigned H3389 in Jerusalem H8083 eight H8141 years, H3212 [H8799] and departed H2532 without being desired. H6912 [H8799] Yet they buried H5892 him in the city H1732 of David, H6913 but not in the burying-places H4428 of the kings.
