  1 H3092 Now Jehoshaphat H6239 had riches H3519 and glory H7230 in abundance, H2859 0 and allied himself H256 with Ahab H2859 [H8691] by marriage.
  2 H7093 And after H8141 certain years H3381 [H8799] he went down H256 to Ahab H8111 to Samaria. H256 And Ahab H2076 [H8799] killed H6629 sheep H1241 and oxen H7230 for him in abundance, H5971 and for the people H5496 [H8686] that he had with him, and persuaded H5927 [H8800] him to go up H7433 H1568 with him to Ramothgilead.
  3 H256 And Ahab H4428 king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat H4428 king H3063 of Judah, H3212 [H8799] Wilt thou go H7433 H1568 with me to Ramothgilead? H559 [H8799] And he answered H5971 him, I am as thou art, and my people H5971 as thy people; H4421 and we will be with thee in the war.
  4 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H4428 to the king H3478 of Israel, H1875 [H8798] Enquire, H1697 I pray thee, at the word H3068 of the LORD H3117 to day.
  5 H4428 Therefore the king H3478 of Israel H6908 [H8799] gathered together H5030 of prophets H702 four H3967 hundred H376 men, H559 [H8799] and said H3212 [H8799] to them, Shall we go H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead H4421 to battle, H2308 [H8799] or shall I forbear? H559 [H8799] And they said, H5927 [H8798] Go up; H430 for God H5414 [H8799] will give H4428 it into the king's H3027 hand.
  6 H3092 But Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said, H5030 Is there not here a prophet H3068 of the LORD H1875 [H8799] besides, that we may enquire of him?
  7 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat, H259 There is yet one H376 man, H1875 [H8800] by whom we may enquire H3068 of the LORD: H8130 [H8804] but I hate H5012 [H8693] him; for he never prophesieth H2896 good H3117 to me, but always H7451 evil: H4321 the same is Micaiah H1121 the son H3229 of Imla. H3092 And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said, H4428 Let not the king H559 [H8799] say so.
  8 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H7121 [H8799] called H259 for one H5631 of his officers, H559 [H8799] and said, H4116 [H8761] Bring quickly H4319 Micaiah H1121 the son H3229 of Imla.
  9 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H3092 and Jehoshaphat H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3427 [H8802] sat H376 each H3678 of them on his throne, H3847 [H8794] clothed H899 in their robes, H3427 [H8802] and they sat H1637 in an open place H6607 at the entrance H8179 of the gate H8111 of Samaria; H5030 and all the prophets H5012 [H8693] prophesied H6440 at the face of them.
  10 H6667 And Zedekiah H1121 the son H3668 of Chenaanah H6213 [H8799] had made H7161 him horns H1270 of iron, H559 [H8799] and said, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD, H5055 [H8762] With these thou shalt push H758 Syria H3615 [H8763] until they shall be consumed.
  11 H5030 And all the prophets H5012 [H8737] prophesied H559 [H8800] so, saying, H5927 [H8798] Go up H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead, H6743 [H8685] and prosper: H3068 for the LORD H5414 [H8804] shall give H3027 it into the hand H4428 of the king.
  12 H4397 And the messenger H1980 [H8804] that went H7121 [H8800] to call H4321 Micaiah H1696 [H8765] spoke H559 [H8800] to him, saying, H1697 Behold, the words H5030 of the prophets H2896 declare good H4428 to the king H259 with one H6310 mouth; H1697 let thy word H259 therefore, I pray thee, be like one H1696 [H8765] of theirs, and speak H2896 thou good.
  13 H4321 And Micaiah H559 [H8799] said, H3068 As the LORD H2416 liveth, H430 even what my God H559 [H8799] saith, H1696 [H8762] that will I speak.
  14 H935 [H8799] And when he had come H4428 to the king, H4428 the king H559 [H8799] said H4318 to him, Micaiah, H3212 [H8799] shall we go H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead H4421 to battle, H2308 [H8799] or shall I forbear? H559 [H8799] And he said, H5927 [H8798] Go ye up, H6743 [H8685] and prosper, H5414 [H8735] and they shall be given H3027 into your hand.
  15 H4428 And the king H559 [H8799] said H6471 to him, How many times H7650 [H8688] shall I adjure H1696 [H8762] thee that thou say H571 nothing but the truth H8034 to me in the name H3068 of the LORD?
  16 H559 [H8799] Then he said, H7200 [H8804] I saw H3478 all Israel H6327 [H8737] scattered H2022 upon the mountains, H6629 as sheep H7462 [H8802] that have no shepherd: H3068 and the LORD H559 [H8799] said, H113 These have no master; H7725 [H8799] let them return H376 therefore every man H1004 to his house H7965 in peace.
  17 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat, H559 [H8804] Did I not tell H5012 [H8691] thee that he would not prophesy H2896 good H7451 to me, but evil?
  18 H559 [H8799] Again he said, H8085 [H8798] Therefore hear H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD; H7200 [H8804] I saw H3068 the LORD H3427 [H8802] sitting H3678 upon his throne, H6635 and all the host H8064 of heaven H5975 [H8802] standing H3225 on his right hand H8040 and on his left.
  19 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said, H6601 [H8762] Who shall entice H256 Ahab H4428 king H3478 of Israel, H5927 [H8799] that he may go up H5307 [H8799] and fall H7433 H1568 at Ramothgilead? H559 [H8799] And one spoke H559 [H8802] saying H3602 after this manner, H559 [H8802] and another saying H3602 after that manner.
  20 H3318 [H8799] Then there came out H7307 a spirit, H5975 [H8799] and stood H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD, H559 [H8799] and said, H6601 [H8762] I will entice H3068 him. And the LORD H559 [H8799] said to him, How?
  21 H559 [H8799] And he said, H3318 [H8799] I will go out, H8267 and be a lying H7307 spirit H6310 in the mouth H5030 of all his prophets. H559 [H8799] And the LORD said, H6601 [H8762] Thou shalt entice H3201 [H8799] him, and thou shalt also prevail: H3318 [H8798] go out, H6213 [H8798] and do even so.
  22 H3068 Now therefore, behold, the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath put H8267 a lying H7307 spirit H6310 in the mouth H5030 of these thy prophets, H3068 and the LORD H1696 [H8765] hath spoken H7451 evil against thee.
  23 H6667 Then Zedekiah H1121 the son H3668 of Chenaanah H5066 [H8799] came near, H5221 [H8686] and smote H4321 Micaiah H3895 upon the cheek, H559 [H8799] and said, H335 Which H1870 way H5674 [H8804] went H7307 the Spirit H3068 of the LORD H1696 [H8763] from me to speak to thee?
  24 H4321 And Micaiah H559 [H8799] said, H7200 [H8802] Behold, thou shalt see H3117 on that day H935 [H8799] when thou shalt go H2315 into an inner H2315 chamber H2244 [H8736] to hide thyself.
  25 H4428 Then the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said, H3947 [H8798] Take H4321 ye Micaiah, H7725 [H8685] and carry him back H526 to Amon H8269 the governor H5892 of the city, H3101 and to Joash H4428 the king's H1121 son;
  26 H559 [H8804] And say, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H4428 the king, H7760 [H8798] Put H1004 H3608 this man in the prison, H398 [H8685] and feed H3899 him with bread H3906 of affliction H4325 and with water H3906 of affliction, H7725 [H8800] until I return H7965 in peace.
  27 H4321 And Micaiah H559 [H8799] said, H7725 [H8800] If thou shalt certainly H7725 [H8799] return H7965 in peace, H3068 then hath not the LORD H1696 [H8765] spoken H559 [H8799] by me. And he said, H8085 [H8798] Hearken, H5971 all ye people.
  28 H4428 So the king H3478 of Israel H3092 and Jehoshaphat H4428 the king H3063 of Judah H5927 [H8799] went up H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead.
  29 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat, H2664 [H8692] I will disguise H935 [H8800] myself, and will go H4421 to the battle; H3847 [H8798] but put H899 thou on thy robes. H4428 So the king H3478 of Israel H2664 [H8691] disguised H935 [H8799] himself; and they went H4421 to the battle.
  30 H4428 Now the king H758 of Syria H6680 [H8765] had commanded H8269 the captains H7393 of the chariots H559 [H8800] that were with him, saying, H3898 [H8735] Fight H6996 ye not with small H1419 or great, H4428 except only with the king H3478 of Israel.
  31 H8269 And it came to pass, when the captains H7393 of the chariots H7200 [H8800] saw H3092 Jehoshaphat, H559 [H8804] that they said, H4428 It is the king H3478 of Israel. H5437 [H8799] Therefore they surrounded H3898 [H8736] him to fight: H3092 but Jehoshaphat H2199 [H8799] cried out, H3068 and the LORD H5826 [H8804] helped H430 him; and God H5496 [H8686] moved them to depart from him.
  32 H8269 For it came to pass, that, when the captains H7393 of the chariots H7200 [H8800] perceived H4428 that it was not the king H3478 of Israel, H7725 [H8799] they turned back again H310 from pursuing him.
  33 H4900 [H8804] And a certain man drew H7198 a bow H8537 at a venture, H5221 [H8686] and smote H4428 the king H3478 of Israel H1694 between the joints H8302 of the armour: H559 [H8799] therefore he said H7395 to his chariot H376 man, H2015 [H8798] Turn H3027 thine hand, H3318 [H8689] that thou mayest carry me out H4264 of the host; H2470 [H8717] for I am wounded.
  34 H4421 And the battle H5927 [H8799] increased H3117 that day: H4428 yet the king H3478 of Israel H5975 [H8689] held himself H4818 in his chariot H5227 against H758 the Syrians H6153 until the evening: H6256 and about the time H8121 of the sun H935 [H8800] setting H4191 [H8799] he died.
