¹⁸ And I also say unto thee, as thou art called Peter, so upon this rock, which thou hast confessed, will I build my church, and the gates of death shall not prevail against it.

² Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew;

²³ And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted even to heaven, shalt be cast down to hell: for if the miracles, which have been wrought in thee, had been wrought in Sodom, it would have remained unto this day.

¹⁷ And if he disregard them, tell it to the church: but if he disregard the church too, let him be unto thee as an heathen and a publican.

⁴² And Andrew brought him to Jesus: and Jesus looking at him said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonas, thou shalt be called Cephas; which is interpreted a stone.

²⁷ and I know them, and they follow me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; nor shall any one force them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father who gave them to me, is greater than all: and therefore none is able to force them out of my Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one. Then the Jews again took up stones to stone Him.

⁴⁷ praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

¹ And Saul was well pleased with his execution. For at that time there was a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all dispersed through the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

³³ Who shall lay any accusation against the elect of God? will God, who justifieth us? ³⁴ Who is he that condemneth? Is it Christ, that died for us? yea rather, that is risen again, who is also at the right hand of God, and who maketh intercession for us? ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ (as it is written, "for thy sake we are killed all the day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter:") ³⁷ but in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things future, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁹ For we are fellow-laborers, the servants of God: and ye are the husbandry of God, ye are the building of God. ¹⁰ According to the grace of God given to me, as a wise architect I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon: but let every one see to it how he buildeth thereon. ¹¹ For no one can lay any other foundation, but that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ: and if any build upon this foundation gold,

⁵⁵ O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

⁹ and knowing the grace which was given to me; James, and Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars of the church, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the gentiles, and they to the circumcision.

¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the houshold of God; ²⁰ being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone: ²¹ in whom the whole building fitly joined together increaseth to an holy temple in the Lord: ²² in whom ye also are built up together for an habitation of God by the Spirit.

¹⁰ that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly regions;

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave up Himself for it: ²⁶ to sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, ²⁷ that He might prepare it for Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and unblameable.

³² This mystery is great: but I speak concerning Christ and the Church.

¹⁸ And He is the head of the body, which is the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things He might have the pre-eminence.

⁵ (for if any one know not how to govern his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

¹⁵ But if I should be retarded, that thou mayst know how thou oughtest to behave in the house of God, the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

³ For He was accounted worthy of more honor than Moses, as he who hath built it, hath more honor than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by some one: and He who built all things is God.

²⁸ Wherefore since we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and holy fear:

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of the world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Anointed, and He shall reign for ever and ever.

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth passed away, and there was no more sea. ² And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be his people, and God himself, even their God, will be with them. ⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall be death no more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
