¹³ And when Jesus came into the parts of Cesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I, the Son of man, am?

²⁰ and Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the fowls of heaven their nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

⁶ but that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, Arise (saith He then to the paralytic) and take up thy couch, and go away to thy house.

⁸ For the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.

³² and if any one speak against the Son of man, it may be forgiven him: but if any one speak against the holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this life, nor in that to come.

⁴⁰ for as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

³⁷ and He answered them, and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

⁴¹ the Son of man will send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all that commit offences, and those who do iniquity, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire,

³¹ So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne:

²⁷ Then Jesus and his disciples went out into the towns of Cesarea Philippi: and by the way He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I am? ²⁸ And they answered, Some say, John the baptist; and others, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. ²⁹ And He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered and saith, Thou art the Christ.

³⁸ for whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this degenerate and sinful age, of him will the Son of man be also ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.

⁴⁵ For the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.

¹⁸ And it came to pass, as He was praying in private, his disciples were with Him: and He asked them saying, Whom say the people that I am? ¹⁹ They answering said, John the baptist: but others say Elias: and others, that some ancient prophet is risen again. ²⁰ And He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ the Son of God.

⁵¹ And He saith unto him, Verily verily I say unto you, Ye shall hereafter see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up:

²⁷ And hath given Him authority also to execute judgement, because He is the Son of man.

³⁴ The people answered Him, We have heard out of the law, that the Messiah abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

⁵⁶ and he said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.

³⁸ how God anointed Him with the holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil: for God was with Him.

¹⁴ Seeing then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself in like manner partook of them; that by death He might destroy him that had the empire of death, that is, the devil: ¹⁵ and deliver those who through fear of death were all their life-time subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For indeed He taketh not hold of angels to save them, but of the seed of Abraham. ¹⁷ Whence it behoved Him to be made in all things like unto his brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high-priest in the things concerning God, to make atonement for the sins of the people: ¹⁸ for as He himself hath suffered, in being tempted, He is able to succour those that are tempted.
