¹⁵ Jesus therefore knowing that they would come, and take Him by force if possible, to make Him king, retired again to the mountain Himself alone.

²² And presently after Jesus obliged the disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side, while He dismissed the multitudes: ²³ and when He had dismissed them, He went up to a hill in private to pray. ²⁴ And in the evening He was there alone. Now the ship was by this time in the midst of the sea, and violently tossed by the waves; for the wind was contrary: ²⁵ but in the fourth watch of the night Jesus came to them walking on the sea: ²⁶ and when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were affrighted and said, It is an apparition; ²⁷ and they cried out for fear: but Jesus immediately spake to them, saying, Take courage, it is I, be not afraid. ²⁸ Then Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be thou, command me to come unto thee upon the waters. ²⁹ And He said, Come. ³⁰ And Peter went down from the ship and walked upon the waters to go to Jesus: but seeing the wind boisterous, he was afraid, and beginning to sink cried out, Lord, save me. ³¹ And Jesus, immediately stretching forth his hand, laid hold of him, and saith to him, O man of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? ³² So they got into the ship, and the wind ceased. ³³ Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Thou art indeed the Son of God.

⁴⁵ And immediately He obliged his disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the people: ⁴⁶ and when He had sent them away, He retired into a mountain to pray. ⁴⁷ And when the evening was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and He alone upon the land: ⁴⁸ and He saw them labouring in rowing; (for the wind was contrary:) and about the fourth watch of the night He cometh to them walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. ⁴⁹ But they seeing Him walking upon the water, thought it was an apparition, and cried out: for they all saw Him and were frighted. ⁵⁰ And He immediately spake to them, and saith, Be of good courage, it is I, be not afraid. ⁵¹ And He went up into the ship to them, and the wind ceased, and they were exceedingly amazed in themselves, and wondered: not considering the miracle of the loaves, ⁵² for their heart was stupified.

⁹ And they that went before, and they that followed, cried out, saying, Hosanna, blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord:

³⁸ saying, Blessed be the king that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!

²⁴ But Jesus did not trust Himself to them; ²⁵ for He knew all men, and He had no need that any should testify concerning man; for He knew what was in man.

⁴¹ Though I desire not applause from men:

³ So Jesus went up to a mountain, and there He sat down with his disciples.

¹⁵ Jesus therefore knowing that they would come, and take Him by force if possible, to make Him king, retired again to the mountain Himself alone. ¹⁶ And when evening was come, his disciples went down to the sea: ¹⁷ and having entered into a ship were going over the Sea towards Capernaum: and it was now dark, and Jesus was not yet come to them. ¹⁸ And the sea rose high by reason of a violent wind. ¹⁹ So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and near the ship: and they were affrighted. ²⁰ But He saith unto them, It is I: be not afraid. ²¹ They desired therefore to take Him into the ship: and immediately the vessel was at the land to which they were going.

³ his brethren therefore said, Depart from hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples there also may see the works which thou performest. ⁴ For no man doth any thing in secret, who is himself desirous to be known in public. As thou dost these wonderful things, make thyself known to the world.

¹² The next day a great multitude that were come to the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm-trees, ¹³ and went out to meet Him, and cried, Hosanna! blessed be the king of Israel, who cometh in the name of the Lord. ¹⁴ And Jesus having gotten a young ass sat thereon, ¹⁵ as it is written, "Fear not, O daughter of Sion, behold thy king cometh sitting on an ass's colt."

³⁶ Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I might not have been delivered to the Jews: but my kingdom is not from hence.

¹³ And there is no creature concealed from his sight: but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him, to whom we are to give an account.
