¹² But the hireling, that is not the true shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf seizeth them, and disperseth the sheep.

¹⁵ And beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

¹⁶ Behold I send you forth as sheep into the midst of wolves: be ye therefore prudent as serpents, and innocent as doves.

³ To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hear his voice; and He calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

² taking the episcopal charge of it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for shameful lucre, but with a ready mind:

³ and by artful speeches they will make sale of you for gain. Whose judgement is long since hastening, and their destruction doth not slumber.
