²¹ The resemblance of which, even baptism, doth also now save us, (not the outward cleansing of filth from the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience towards God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

¹⁹ Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost,

¹⁶ he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned.

³⁸ And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the holy Spirit:

³⁶ And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See here is water, what hindereth me from being baptized?

³³ And he took them at that very time of the night, and bathed their stripes: and was baptized, he and all his immediately after.

¹⁶ And now why shouldst thou delay? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling upon the name of the Lord.

¹⁴ and yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned after the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is the type of Him that was to come.

³ Know ye not, that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death? ⁴ Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life: ⁵ for if we have been planted together in the resemblance of his death, so shall we be also of his resurrection. ⁶ Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be inslaved to sin:

⁹ and believe in thine heart, that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

⁶ These things, my brethren, I have by a figure transferred to myself, and Apollos, for your sakes, that ye may learn in us not to be wise above what is written, that ye may not be puffed up for one against another.

¹³ so also is the mystical body of Christ; for by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, (whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free) and are all made to drink into one Spirit:

¹² For this is our rejoicing, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and pious sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and especially towards you.

¹ Having therefore, my beloved, these promises, let us purify ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

²⁷ For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ:

²⁶ to sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

¹² being buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are raised together with Him, through faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.

¹² Maintain the glorious combat of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which thou hast been called, and hast made a good profession before many witnesses.

⁵ not for works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy Spirit; ⁶ which He hath plentifully shed upon us, through Jesus Christ our Saviour: ⁷ that being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

²⁴ For Christ is not entered into holy places made with hands, which were but types of the true ones; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

¹⁹ concluding that God was able to raise him even from the dead; from whence indeed he had in a manner received him.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath regenerated us to a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
