²⁹ Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel; the Lord is our God, the Lord is One;

³⁷ "He that loves father or mother more than Me, is not worthy of Me; and he that loves son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me.

⁹ And call no one your father on the earth; for One is your Father, the Heavenly.

³² The scribe said to Him, "Well, Teacher, Thou didst say truly that He is One, and there is not another beside Him; ³³ and to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as himself, is much more than all the whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices."

²⁷ And he, answering, said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

³⁰ if, indeed, God is One Who will justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.

⁴ concerning, therefore, the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but One.

²⁰ Now a mediator is not of one, but God is one.

⁵ But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and of faith unfeigned;

⁵ For there is one God, one Mediator also between God and men, a Man, Christ Jesus,

¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder!

²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time, and now, and forever and ever. Amen.
