²⁰ Forever since the creation of the world, His invisible characteristics -- His eternal power and divine nature -- have been made intelligible and clearly visible by His works. So they are without excuse,

⁴⁵ to prove that you are sons of your Father in heaven, for He makes His sun rise on bad as well as good people, and makes the rain come down on doers of right and of wrong alike.

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God; the only son, Deity Himself, who lies upon His Father's breast, has made him known.

²² "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. But now the fact is, they have no excuse for their sin.

²⁹ Since then we are God's offspring, we ought not to suppose that His nature is like gold or silver or stone or anything carved by man's art and thought.

¹ "Brothers and fathers, listen now to what I have to say in my defense."

¹⁹ because what can be known of God is clear to their inner moral sense; for in this way God Himself has shown it to them.

¹ Therefore, you have no excuse, whoever you are, who pose as a judge of others, for when you pass judgment on another, you condemn yourself, for you who pose as a judge are practicing the very same sins yourself.

¹⁵ for they show that the deeds the law demands are written on their hearts, because their consciences will testify for them, and their inner thoughts will either accuse or defend them,

²⁶ but now has been fully brought to light by means of the prophetic Scriptures, and in accordance with the command of the eternal God has been made known to all the heathen, to win them to obedience inspired by faith --

¹⁵ Yes, He is the exact likeness of the unseen God, His first-born Son who existed before any created thing,

⁹ For it is in Him that all the fullness of Deity continues to live embodied,

¹⁷ To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

¹⁶ who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

¹⁴ how much more surely will the blood of Christ, who with an eternal Spirit gave Himself a spotless offering to God, purify your consciences from works that mean mere death, to serve the ever living God?

²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, because he was not afraid of the king's anger, for he persevered as though he were actually seeing Him who is unseen.
