²³ They offered Him wine flavored with myrrh, but He would not take it.

¹⁹ So the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and got the Passover supper ready.

³⁴ they gave Him some wine mixed with gall, but when He tasted it, He would not drink it.

²⁵ I solemnly say to you, I will never again drink the product of the vine till the day when I drink the new wine in the kingdom of God."

So they put a sponge soaked in sour wine on a stick and put it to His lips. ³⁰ As soon as Jesus took the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
