¹ Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is at Corinth, with all God's people all over Greece:

¹ Now he went to Derbe and Lystra too. At Lystra there was a disciple named Timothy, whose mother was a Christian Jewess, but his father was a Greek.

¹ After this he left Athens and went to Corinth. ² There he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had issued an edict for all Jews to leave Rome. So Paul paid them a visit, ³ and as they all had the same trade, they proceeded to work together. ⁴ Every sabbath it was Paul's habit to preach in the synagogue and to persuade both Jews and Greeks. ⁵ By the time Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was wholly absorbed in preaching the message and was enthusiastically assuring the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. ⁶ But as they opposed and abused him, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, "Your blood be upon your own heads! I am not to blame for it myself. Hereafter I am going to the heathen." ⁷ So he moved into the house of a pagan named Titus Justus, who worshiped the true God; his house was next to the synagogue. ⁸ But Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, became a believer in the Lord, and so did all his family, and from time to time many of the Corinthians heard, believed, and were baptized. ⁹ One night in a vision the Lord said to Paul, "Stop being afraid, go on speaking, never give up; ¹⁰ because I am with you, and no one is going to attack you so as to injure you, because I have many people in this city." ¹¹ So for a year and a half he settled down among them and went on teaching God's message. ¹² While Gallio was governor of Greece, the Jews unanimously attacked Paul and one day brought him before the court,

¹ Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, called as an apostle, set apart to preach God's good news, ² which long ago He promised through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, ³ about His Son, who on the physical side became a descendant of David, and on the holy, spiritual side ⁴ proved to be God's Son in power by the resurrection from the dead -- I mean, Jesus Christ, our Lord, ⁵ through whom we have received God's favor and a commission as an apostle in His name to urge upon all the heathen obedience inspired by faith,

²⁶ For Macedonia and Greece were delighted to make a contribution to the poor among God's people in Jerusalem.

⁵ Remember me to the church too, that meets at their house. Remember me to my dear Epaenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.

²¹ Timothy, my fellow-worker, wishes to be remembered to you; so do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater too, my fellow-countrymen.

¹ Paul, by the will of God called as an apostle of Jesus Christ, and our brother Sosthenes, ² to the church of God at Corinth, to those who are consecrated by union with Christ Jesus, and called to be God's people, in fellowship with those who anywhere call upon the name of Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

¹¹ And these are just the characters some of you used to be. But now you have washed yourselves clean, you have been consecrated, you are now in right standing with God, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.

³² Stop being stumbling blocks to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God,

¹⁰ If Timothy gets there, see that he is at ease among you, for he is devotedly doing the work of the Lord, just as I am.

¹⁵ Now I beg you, brothers -- you know that the family of Stephanas were the first converts in Greece, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of God's people --

² for I know your readiness to help in it. I am boasting of you about it to the Macedonians, reminding them that Greece has been ready since last year, and your enthusiasm has stimulated the most of them.

¹⁰ But the truth of Christ in me, this boasting of mine shall never be stopped in the boundaries of Greece.

¹ Paul, an apostle sent not from men or by any man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead --

¹ Paul, by God's will an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's people who are faithful in Christ Jesus;

¹ Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all God's people in union with Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and assistants:

¹⁹ I hope, with the approval of the Lord Jesus, soon to send Timothy to you, so that I too may be cheered on getting the news about you. ²⁰ For I have no one else with a heart like his who would take such genuine interest in you, ²¹ for most people are looking out for their own interests, not for the interests of Jesus Christ. ²² But you know his tested character, how like a son in fellowship with his father he has toiled with me like a slave in preaching the good news.

¹ Paul, by God's will an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Timothy, ² to the consecrated and faithful brothers at Colossae who are in union with Christ: spiritual blessing and peace to you from God our Father.

¹ Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the Thessalonian church in union with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: spiritual blessing and peace be to you.

⁷ so that you became examples to all the believers in Macedonia and Greece. ^{8 (1:7)} For the message of the Lord has rung out from you, not only in Macedonia and Greece, but everywhere the report of your faith in God has been told, so that we need never mention it.

¹ Paul, a slave of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to stimulate faith in God's chosen people and to lead them on to a full knowledge of religious truth,

²³ You must know that our brother Timothy has been released from prison. If he comes soon, he and I will see you together.
