¹² It was made known to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in their searching for these things that have already been told to you by those who through the Holy Spirit sent from heaven brought you the good news. The angels long to take a peep into these things.

²⁵ At that time Jesus said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for concealing these matters from wise and learned men, and for revealing them to little children.

²⁷ All things have been entrusted to me by my Father, and no one but the Father perfectly knows the Son, and no one but the Son perfectly knows the Father, and the one to whom the Son chooses to make Him known.

¹⁷ Then Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for it is not man that made this known to you, but my Father in heaven.

¹⁵ Then He said to them, "You must go all over the world and preach the good news to all the creation.

²⁶ It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not die without seeing the Lord's Messiah.

⁶ And so they set out and went from village to village, telling the good news and curing people everywhere.

¹⁰ Just so, I tell you, there is joy among the angels of God over one sinful person who repents!"

²⁶ "When the Helper comes whom I will send from the Father to you, the Spirit of truth that comes from the Father, He will testify to me.

⁷ Yet it is nothing but the truth I now tell you, that it is better for you that I should go away. For if I do not go away, the Helper will not come into close fellowship with you, but if I do go away, I will send Him to be in close fellowship with you. ⁸ "And when He comes, He will bring conviction to worldly people about sin and uprightness and judgment; ⁹ about sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ about uprightness, because I go away to the Father so that you can no longer see me; ¹¹ about judgment, because the evil ruler of this world has been condemned. ¹² "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot grasp it now. ¹³ But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into the whole truth, for He will not speak on His own authority but will tell what is told Him, and will announce to you the things that are to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify me, because He will take the things that belong to me and tell them to you. ¹⁵ Everything that the Father has is mine; this is why I have told you, 'He will take the things that are mine and tell them to you.'

² when suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a terrific blast of wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting, ³ And they saw tongues like flames of fire separating and resting on their heads, one to each of them, ⁴ and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in foreign languages as the Spirit granted them to utter divine things.

¹⁷ 'It will occur in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all mankind. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will have visions. Your old men will have dreams. ¹⁸ Even on my slaves, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will become prophets.

³³ So He has been exalted to God's right hand and has received from His Father, as promised, and poured out upon us the Holy Spirit, as you see and hear.

⁸ Then Peter, because he was filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Leaders and elders of the people,

³¹ When they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and continued courageously to speak God's message.

²⁵ So after they had given their testimony and spoken the Lord's message, they started back to Jerusalem, and on the way continued to tell the good news in many Samaritan villages.

⁴⁴ While Peter was still speaking these truths, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message.

¹⁰ As soon as he had this vision, we laid our plans to get off to Macedonia, because we confidently concluded that God had called us to tell them the good news.

¹⁵ So, as far as I can, I am eager to preach the good news to you at Rome, too.

¹⁷ For in the good news God's Way of man's right standing with Him is uncovered, the Way of faith that leads to greater faith, just as the Scripture says, "The upright man must live by faith."

¹⁵ And how can men preach unless they are sent to do so? As the Scripture says, "How beautiful are the feet of men who bring the glad news of His good things!"

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So I have completed the telling of the good news of Christ all the way from Jerusalem around to Illyricum.

¹⁰ For God unveiled them to us through His Spirit, for the Spirit by searching discovers everything, even the deepest truths about God.

²² and put His seal upon us, and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a first installment of future rewards.

⁶ through my personal purity, my knowledge, my patience, my kindness; through the Holy Spirit, my genuine love,

¹² for I did not get it from any man; I was not taught it, but I got it through a revelation given by Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ chose to unveil His Son in me, so that I might preach the good news about Him among the heathen, at once, before I conferred with any human creatures,

¹⁰ so that the many phases of God's wisdom may now through the church be made known to the rulers and authorities in heaven,

⁵ for our preaching of the good news came to you not entirely in words but with power and with the Holy Spirit and with absolute certainty (for you know the kind of men we were among you for your own sakes). ⁶ And you followed the example set by us and by the Lord, because you welcomed our message with a joy inspired by the Holy Spirit, in spite of the painful persecutions it brought you,

⁹ You remember, brothers, our hard labor and toil. We kept up our habit of working night and day, in order not to be a burden to any of you when we preached to you.

⁴ while God continued to confirm their testimony with signs, marvels, and various sorts of wonder-works, and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed in accordance with His will.

² For we have had the good news told to us as well as they, but the message heard did them no good, because they were not by faith made one with those who heeded it.

¹³ These people all died victoriously as a result of their faith, although they did not receive the blessings promised; that is, because they really saw them in the far-off future and welcomed them, and so professed to be only foreigners and strangers here on earth.

³⁹ Though all these people by their faith won God's approval, yet none of them received what He had promised, ⁴⁰ for God had provided something still better for us, that they, apart from us might not attain perfection.

²⁵ But the word of the Lord lives on forever"; that is, the message of the good news which has been brought to you.

¹¹ Then I looked and heard the voices of many angels surrounding the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. Their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
