³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?

¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? ¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

³⁶ Then he sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

³⁹ The enemy that sowed them, is the devil: the harvest is the end of the age: and the reapers are the angels. ⁴⁰ As therefore the tares are gathered and burns in the fire; so shall it be in the end of [this] age:

⁴⁹ So shall it be at the end of the age: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just;

¹² Then came his disciples, and said unto him, knowest thou that the Pharisees were scandalized after they heard this saying?

¹⁹ Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

¹ And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olivet, then sent Jesus two disciples,

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth unto the west: so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

³² Now learn a parable of the fig-tree: When its branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: ³³ So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors.

³⁷ For as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³⁹ And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

⁴³ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the age.

³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, over against the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew asked him by himself, ⁴ Tell us when these things shall be and what the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

⁷ And the disciples asked him, saying, Master, When will these things be? and what will be the sign of thy coming?

²¹ -- ²² Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he remain thus until I come, what [is that] to thee? Follow thou me.

⁷ And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

¹ But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. ² For your selves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. ³ And when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. ⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ For we are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that be drunken, are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breast-plate of faith, and love, and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. ⁹ For God hath not appointed us to wrath; but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ Who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. ¹¹ Wherefore comfort your selves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

²⁶ For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world, but now once in the end of the world, hath he appeared to put away sins by the sacrifice of himself.
