²⁵ For what will it advantage a man to gain the whole world, and lose himself.

⁴⁸ Which when it was full, they drew it to the shore, and sat down, and gathered the best into vessels, but cast the bad away.

⁵⁰ And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

³⁶ For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

⁴³ And if thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off; it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands, to be cast into gehenna, where is the unquenchable fire. ⁴⁴ Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁵ And if thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into eternal life, than having two feet, to be cast into gehenna, into the fire that never shall be quenched: ⁴⁶ Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁷ And [if] thine eye scandalize thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye; than having two eyes to go away into gehenna: ⁴⁸ Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

⁵ And He taking him up into a very high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. ⁶ And the devil said unto him, I will give thee all this power and the glory of them; for that is delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will, I give it. ⁷ If thou therefore wilt worship before me, all shall be thine.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods; Be merry. ²⁰ But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: [then] whose shall those things be which thou hast provided; ²¹ --

²⁴ And he cried earnestly and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. ²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is here comforted, and thou art pained.

¹⁸ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of his iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

²⁵ That he may take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas fell, that he might go to his own place.

²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I my self should be a castaway.

¹⁵ Who forsake the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor,who loved the wages of unrighteousness; ¹⁶ But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with mans voice, forbad the madness of the prophet. ¹⁷ These are wells without water, and mists that are carried with a tempest, to whom the blackness of darkness is reserved for ever.

⁷ How much she hath glorified her self, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, that I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. ⁸ Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burnt with fire: for strong [is] God who hath judged her.
