¹ Now it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cesar Augustus, that all the world should be enrolled.

¹⁷ What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cesar, or not?

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.

⁹ But verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, what she also hath done shall be spoken of, for a memorial of her.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

¹ Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Cesar, Pontius Pilate being procurator of Judea, and Herod [being tetrarch of Galilee].and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea, and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,

²⁸ And as we conversed together, one of them named Agabus, spake, signifying by the spirit, that there should be a great famine throughout all the world: which also came to pass under Claudius.

¹¹ For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but ifthere be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me onto them. I appeal unto Cesar.

²¹ But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Cesar.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
