¹² This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one to another; with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.

² And walk in love, as Christ also hath saved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, for a sweet-smelling savour.

¹² And the Lord Jesus make you to increase and abound in love one towards another, and towards all men, even as we [do] towards you:

⁹ But as touching brotherly love, we have no need to write unto you: for ye your selves are taught of God to love one another.

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all towards each other aboundeth:

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, unto unfeigned love of the brethren; love one another with the heart fervently:

⁸ Finally, [be ye] all unanimous, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, pitiful, humble:

⁸ And above all things have fervent charity among your selves: for charity covers a multitude of sins.

⁷ Beloved, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old cmmandment is the word which ye have heard. ⁸ Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in us: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. ⁹ He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. ¹⁰ He that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

¹¹ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. ¹² Not as Cain was of that wicked one, and slew his brother: And wherefore slew he him? Because his own Works were evil, and his brothers righteous. ¹³ Marvel not, Brethren, if the world hate you. ¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren: he that loveth [them] not abideth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoever hateth his brother, is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

²³ And this is his commandment, that we believe on the name of Jesus Christ himself, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

²¹ And this commandment have we from God, that he who loveth God, love his brother also.
