⁴⁶ For they heard them speaking with other tongues, and magnifying God. But Peter said,

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow them that believe, in my name shall they call out dæmons: they shall speak with new tongues.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹¹ Cretes, and Arabians; we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

⁶ And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost presently fell on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

²⁰ Brethren, be not little children in understanding: howbeit, in malice be ye infants: but in understanding be perfect. ²¹ In the law it is written, With other tongues, and other lips, will I speak unto this people: and yet for all that, will they not hear me, saith the Lord. ²² Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesies, not for them that believe not, but for them that believe, ²³ If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? ²⁴ But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: ²⁵ And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; [and] falling down on [his] face, he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
