¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expresly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, the doctrines of dæmons;

⁵ For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ: and deceive many. ⁶ And ye shall hear of wars, and rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for it must come to pass, but the end [is] not yet. ⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. ⁸ All these [are] the beginning of sorrows. ⁹ Then shall they deliver you to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake. ¹⁰ And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. ¹¹ And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. ¹² And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will wax cold.

¹³ When he, the Spirit of truth shall come, he will guide you in all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, he will speak: and he will tell you things to come.

² As they ministred to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them.

¹⁸ But certain also of the philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him: and some said, What will this babler say? but others, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange daemons.

²⁵ And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word. Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the Prophet, unto our fathers,

⁵ For though there be that are called gods, and lords, whether in heaven or in earth, as there be gods many, and lords many. ⁶ But to us is one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.

²⁰ But, the things which they sacrifice, they sacrifice to dæmons, and not to God: I would not that ye should have fellowship with dæmons.

¹¹ But all these worketh that one and the self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

³ But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and purity that is in Christ.

¹³ For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. ¹⁵ [It is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

¹⁸ Let no man beguile you of your reward, in a voluntary humility, and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath [[Read] not seen.] seen, vainly puft up by his fleshly mind;

³ Let no man deceive you by any means: for it will not be except there come an apostacy first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition: ⁴ Who opposeth and exateth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. ⁵ Remember ye not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And now ye know what with holdeth, that he might be revealed in his time. ⁷ For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth, [will do it], until he be taken out of the way. ⁸ And then shall that wicked one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: ⁹ Whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all power, and signs, and wonders of a lie. ¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness, in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth of Christ, that they might be saved. ¹¹ For this cause God sends them strong delusion, that they shall believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ This know also, that in the last days perilous times will come. ² For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ Without natural affection, truce breakers, false-accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, ⁴ Treacherous, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more that lovers of God; ⁵ Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away: ⁶ For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ⁷ Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁸ Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. ⁹ But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all, as theirs also was.

¹³ But evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

⁴ And they will turn away [their] ears from the truth, and will be turned unto fables.

²⁰ Who verily was fore-ordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in this last of times for us;

¹ But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who privily will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction,

³ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers in scoffing, walking after their own lusts,

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye have heard antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour.

⁶ We are of God: he that knoweth God, heareth us; Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

⁴ For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were of old described as coming to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and, denying the only Lord, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ That they told you there should come mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

⁷ He that hath an ear, let him hear, what the Spirit saith unto the seven churches, To him that overcometh wilt I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

¹¹ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches, He that overcometh, shall not be hurt of the second death.

¹⁷ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches, To him that overcometh will I give of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth, saving he that receiveth it.

² And he opened the pit of the abyss, and there arose a smoke out of the pit, the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkned, by reason of the smoke of the pit. ³ And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth; and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. ⁴ And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but those men who have not the seal of God upon [their] foreheads. ⁵ And it was given to them that they should not kill them, but they shall be tormented five months: and their torment [was] as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. ⁶ And in those days shall men seek death, and by no means find it, and shall desire to die, and death shall fly from them. ⁷ And the shapes of the locusts [were] like unto horses prepared onto battle; and on their heads as it were crowns like gold, and their faces as the faces of men. ⁸ And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as those of lions. ⁹ And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings [was] as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. ¹⁰ And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and in their tails their power was to hurt men five months. ¹¹ They had a king over them, the angel, the prince of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon: [The Destroyer.]

²⁰ And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues, yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship daemons, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood: which neither can see, nor bear, nor walk:

¹⁴ And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth, by those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the wild beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the wild beast who had the wound by a sword, and did live.

¹⁴ For they are the spirits of daemons working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of the great day of God almighty.

² And he cried with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of daemons, and the hold of every unclean and hateful spirit; and a cage of every unclean and hateful wild beast.

²³ And the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived:

²⁰ And the wild beast was taken, and those with him, the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the wild beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. ³ And cast him into the abyss, and shut [him] up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: after that he must be loosed a little season.

⁸ And shall go out to deceive the nations, which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of them, as the sand of the sea.

¹⁰ And the devil that deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where both the wild beast and the false prophet [were,] and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
