¹ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew his servants the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified them by his angel to his servant John, ² Who hath testified the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, all things which he saw. ³ Happy is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein: for the time is near. ⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia; Grace be unto you, and peace from him who is, and who was, and who cometh, and from the seven Spirits that are before the throne, ⁵ And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first begotten from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth: ⁶ To him that loved us, and hath washed us from our sins with his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto his God and Father, to him be the glory and the might for ever. ⁷ Behold he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they who have pierced him: and all the tribes of the earth shall wail because of him. ⁸ Yea. Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who cometh, the Almighty. ⁹ I John, your brother and companion in the affliction, and in the kingdom, and patience of Jesus, was in the island Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus. ¹⁰ I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, ¹¹ and heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet, Saying, what thou seest, write in a book and send to the seven churches, to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea. ¹² And I turned to see the voice that spake with me; and being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks, And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one, ¹³ like a son of man, cloathed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breast with a golden girdle. ¹⁴ His head and hair were white as white wool, as snow, ¹⁵ and his eyes as a flame of fire, And his feet like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and his voice as the voice of many waters. ¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword; and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead: and he laid his right-hand upon me, saying, Fear not, I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ And he that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore, and have the keys of death and of Hades. ¹⁹ Write the things which thou hast seen, and which are, and which shall be hereafter: ²⁰ The mystery of the stars which thou sawest in my right hand and of the seven golden candlesticks. The stars are angels of the churches: and the candlesticks are seven churches.

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. ¹⁵ A city that is situated on a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do they light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

¹¹ He answered and said to them, Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given.

⁴³ He saith to them, How doth David then by the Spirit call him Lord?

³⁰ And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

⁶⁴ Jesus saith to him, Thou hast said. Moreover I say to you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right-hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.

³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. ⁴ And for fear of him the guards trembled, and became as dead men.

²⁶ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with power and great glory.

⁶² And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man, sitting on the right-hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.

⁵ And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man, sitting on the right-side, clothed in a white robe; and they were affrighted. ⁶ He saith to them, Be not affrighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen: he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.

¹⁹ And he came to Ephesus, and left him there; but he himself going into the synagogue, reasoned with the Jews. ²⁰ But though they intreated him to tarry longer with them, he consented not: ²¹ But took his leave of them, saying, I must by all means keep the approaching feast at Jerusalem, but I will return to you again, if God will.

²⁴ Now a certain Jew, Apollos by name, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

And they said, Into John's baptism. ⁴ And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe on him that was to come after him, that is on Jesus. ⁵ And hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. ⁶ And Paul laying his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came upon them, and they spake with tongues and prophesied. ⁷ And they were in all about twelve men. And going into the synagogue, ⁸ he spake boldly, for three months discoursing and evincing the things concerning the kingdom of God. ⁹ But when some were hardened, and would not believe, but spake reproachfully of the way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, discoursing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. ¹⁰ And this was done for the space of two years, so that all the inhabitants of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord.

¹⁰ And this was done for the space of two years, so that all the inhabitants of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord. ¹¹ And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul, ¹² So that handkerchiefs or aprons were carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits came out of them. ¹³ And some of the vagabond Jews, who were exorcists, undertook to name the name of the Lord Jesus, over those who had evil spirits, saying, We adjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth. ¹⁴ And there were seven sons of one Sceva a Jewish chief priest, who did this. ¹⁵ But the evil spirit answering said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was, leaping upon them, and getting the mastery of them, prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. ¹⁷ And this was known to all both Jews and Greeks dwelling at Ephesus, and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. ¹⁸ And many of those who believed came, confessing and openly declaring their deeds. ¹⁹ Many also of those who had practised curious arts, bringing their books together, burnt them before all men, and they computed the value of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. ²⁰ So powerfully did the word of God grow and prevail. ²¹ After these things were ended, Paul purposed in spirit, having passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must see Rome also. ²² And having sent two of those who ministred to him, Timothy and Erastus, into Macedonia, he himself staid in Asia for a season. ²³ And about that time, there arose no small tumult concerning the way. ²⁴ For a man named Demetrius, a silver smith, who made silver shrines of Diana, procured no small gain to the artificers: ²⁵ Whom having gathered together, with the workmen employed in such things, he said, Sirs, ye know, that our maintenance arises from this occupation. ²⁶ But ye see and hear, that not at Ephesus only, but almost through all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned aside much people, saying, That they are not gods, which are made with hands. ²⁷ So that there is danger, not only that this our craft should be set at nought, but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her majesty destroyed, whom all Asia, and the world worshipeth. ²⁸ And hearing this, they were filled with rage, and cried out, saying, The great Diana of the Ephesians. ²⁹ And the whole city was filled with confusion; and they rushed with one accord into the theatre, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's fellow-travellers. ³⁰ And when Paul would have gone in to the people, the disciples would not suffer him. ³¹ And some also of the principal officers of Asia, being his friends, sent to him and desired, that he would not venture himself into the theatre. ³² Some therefore cried one thing, and some another; for the assembly was confused, and the greater part did not know, for what they were come together. ³³ And they thrust Alexander forward from among the multitude, the Jews pushing him on; and Alexander, waving with his hand, would have made a defence to the people. ³⁴ But when they knew that he was a Jew, one voice arose from them all, crying out, for about two hours, The great Diana of the Ephesians. ³⁵ But the register, having pacified the people, said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there who knoweth not, that the city of the Ephesians is a worshiper of the great Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter? ³⁶ Seeing then these things cannot be denied, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. ³⁷ For ye have brought these men, who are neither robbers of temples, nor blasphemers of your goddess. ³⁸ If then Demetrius and the artificers that are with him, have a charge against any one, the courts are held, and there are proconsuls; let them implead one another. ³⁹ But if ye inquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly. ⁴⁰ And indeed we are in danger to be questioned for sedition, concerning this day; there being no cause, whereby we can account for this concourse. ⁴¹ And having said these things, he dismissed the assembly.

⁷ And on the first day of the week, when we were met together to break bread, Paul being to depart on the morrow, preached to them, and continued his discourse till midnight.

¹⁷ And sending to Ephesus from Miletus, he called thither the elders of the church.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves and to the whole flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

³⁶ For of him, and through him, and to him are all things: to him be glory for ever! Amen.

¹¹ And do this, knowing the season, that it is high time now to awake out of sleep; for salvation is nearer to us now, then when we first believed.

⁸ Whether therefore we live or die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ both died and lived again, that he might be the Lord both of the dead and of the living.

¹⁵ That ye may be blameless and simple, the sons of God, unrebukable, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world, ¹⁶ Holding fast the word of life, that I may glory in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

¹⁴ Nevertheless ye have done well, that ye did communicate to me in my affliction.

¹⁸ who is the beginning, the first-begotten from the dead, that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.

³ For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

¹² For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder both of the soul and spirit, both of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

¹⁵ let us hold fast our profession, For we have not an high-priest who cannot sympathize with our infirmities, but who was in all points tempted like as we are: yet without sin.

⁶ And have fallen away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

²⁵ Wherefore he is able also, to save them to the uttermost who come to God thro' him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?

¹⁰ And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables, so that seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not understand.

²⁸ But he said, Yea, rather blessed are they, that hear the word of God and keep it.

²⁷ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory.

²⁸ But Jesus turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. ²⁹ For behold the days are coming in which they will say, Happy are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps that never gave suck. ³⁰ Then shall they say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

³⁷ But being terrified and affrighted, they thought they saw a spirit. ³⁸ And he said to them, Why are ye troubled? and why do reasonings arise in your hearts? ³⁹ Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see: for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as you see me have.

³² And John testified, saying, I saw the Spirit descending like a dove, and it abode upon him.

¹¹ Verily, verily I say to thee, we speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; yet ye receive not our testimony.

²³ That all men may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father that sent him.

¹⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, Tho' I testify of myself, yet my testimony is valid: for I know whence I came, and whither I go: but ye know not whence I came, or whither I go. ¹⁵ Ye judge after the flesh: I judge no man. And yet if I judge, my judgment is valid; for I am not alone: ¹⁶ but I and the Father that sent me.

²⁶ I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true, and I speak to the world the things which I have heard from him.

¹⁷ And the people who were with him, when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, bare witness.

⁴⁹ For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me commandment, what I should say, and how I should speak.

¹ Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing his hour was come to pass out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them to the end.

⁸ Peter saith to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. ⁹ Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. ¹⁰ Jesus saith to him, He who hath been bathed, needeth only to wash his feet, and is clean all over: and ye are clean; but not all.

²³ Now there was lying in the bosom of Jesus, one of the disciples whom Jesus loved.

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more: but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

⁹ As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you.

³³ I have spoken these things to you, that ye may have peace in me. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but take courage: I have overcome the world.

⁸ For I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely, that I came forth from thee, and they have believed that thou hast sent me.

³⁷ Pilate said to him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest. I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I might bear witness to the truth.

³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and forthwith there came out blood and water. ³⁵ And he that saw, hath testified it, and his testimony is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye may believe.

¹⁹ The same day, the first day of the week, at evening, the doors being shut, where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith to them, Peace be unto you.

²⁶ And eight days after, his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you.

²⁰ Peter turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee?

⁹ And having spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him from their sight. ¹⁰ And while they were stedfastly looking up to heaven, as he went up, ¹¹ behold two men, in white apparel, stood by them, Who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing into heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as ye have seen him going into heaven.

¹⁰ And he became very hungry, and would have eaten; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, ¹¹ And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel like a great sheet, tied at the four corners, descending to him, and let down on the earth: ¹² Wherein were all four-footed creatures of the earth, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. ¹³ And a voice came to him, Rise, Peter, kill and eat. ¹⁴ But Peter said, In no wise, Lord: for I have never eaten any thing common or unclean. ¹⁵ And the voice came to him again, the second time, What God hath purified, call not thou common. ¹⁶ This was done thrice, and the vessel was taken up again to heaven. ¹⁷ Now while Peter doubted in himself, what the vision he had seen should mean, behold the men sent by Cornelius, having inquired out Simon's house, stood at the gate, ¹⁸ And calling asked, Whether Simon, surnamed Peter, lodged there? ¹⁹ While Peter was musing on the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, men seek thee. ²⁰ Arise therefore and go down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them. ²¹ Then Peter going down to the men, said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: for what cause are ye come? ²² And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and fearing God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned of God by an holy angel, to send for thee to his house, and to hear words from thee. ²³ And he invited them in and lodged them. And the next day, Peter went away with them; and certain brethren from Joppa went with him. ²⁴ And the day following they entered into Cesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and near friends. ²⁵ And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down at his feet, worshiped him. ²⁶ But Peter raised him up saying, Arise: I myself also am a man. ²⁷ And as he talked with him, he went in and found many come together. ²⁸ And he said to them, Ye know it is unlawful for a Jew to join with or come to one of another nation; but God hath shewed me, to call no man common or unclean. ²⁹ Therefore being sent for, I came without gain-saying. I ask therefore, for what intent ye have sent for me? ³⁰ And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting till this hour, and at the ninth hour I was praying in my house, ³¹ and behold a man stood before me in bright clothing, And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are remembred before God. ³² Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter: he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner by the sea, who being come, shall speak to thee. ³³ Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast done well in coming. Now therefore we are all present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee by God.

²² Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith; and that we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁵ For thou shalt be his witness to all men, of what thou hast seen and heard.

¹⁶ And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise and stand upon thy feet; for I have appeared to thee for this purpose, to ordain thee a minister and a witness, both of the things which thou hast seen,

²³ That the Christ having suffered, and being the first who rose from the dead, should shew light to the people and to the Gentiles.

⁷ who are beloved of God, called and holy, Grace to you, and peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷ and honour, and immortality, eternal life. ⁸ But to them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be indignation and wrath,

³ And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, ⁴ knowing that tribulation worketh patience, And patience experience, and experience hope;

⁹ Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead, dieth no more; death no more hath dominion over him.

¹⁷ And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ: if we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

²⁵ But if we hope for what we see not, we patiently wait for it.

³⁷ Nay, in all these things we more than conquer, through him who hath loved us.

⁶ That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁵ according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, (according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began,

³ Grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ in all utterance and in all knowledge, As the testimony of Christ was confirmed among you:

¹ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.

⁹ For I think God hath set forth us the apostles last, as appointed to death; for we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake; but ye are wise in Christ: we are weak; but ye are strong: ye are honourable; but we are despised. ¹¹ Even to this present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain abode, And labour, working with our own hands: ¹² being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: ¹³ Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and off-scouring of all things to this day.

¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of administrations, but the same Lord: ⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each, to profit withal. ⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another by the same Spirit, the word of knowledge; ⁹ To another faith by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ to another the gift of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But one and the same Spirit worketh all these, dividing to every one severally as he willeth. ¹² For as the body is one, and yet hath many members, but all the members of the body, many as they are, are one body, so is Christ. ¹³ For we are all baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles, whether slaves or freemen; and we have all drank of one Spirit.

²⁰ But now is Christ risen from the dead, the first-fruit of them that slept. ²¹ For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. ²² For as through Adam all die, even so through Christ shall all be made alive. ²³ But every one in his own order: Christ the first-fruit, afterward they who are Christ's, at his coming.

³² I have fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.

² On the first day of the week, let every one of you lay by him in store according as he hath been prospered, that there may be no collections when I come.

⁸ But I will stay at Ephesus till Pentecost.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us, while we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: ¹⁵ And that he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live to themselves, but to him who died for them, and rose again.

¹⁸ And will be to you a Father, and ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

² I knew a man in Christ, above fourteen years ago (whether in the body I know not, or out of the body I know not; God knoweth) such an one caught up to the third heaven. ³ Yea, I knew such a man (whether in the body or out of the body, I know not, God knoweth) That he was caught up into paradise, ⁴ and heard unspeakable things, which it is not possible for man to utter.

⁴ For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God: and we also are weak with him; but we shall live with him, by the power of God in you.

¹² For neither did I receive it from man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

²⁰ I am crucified with Christ, and I live no longer, but Christ liveth in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

¹ Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus,

²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, raising him from the dead; and he hath made him sit at his own right-hand in heavenly places, ²¹ Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. ²² And he hath put all things under his feet, and hath given him to be head over all things to the church,

⁶ And he said to me, These sayings are faithful and true: the Lord the God of the holy prophets hath sent his angel, to shew his servants the things which must be done shortly. ⁷ Behold, I come quickly: happy is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book.

¹⁰ And he saith to me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: the time is nigh.

¹² Behold I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to render to every one as his work shall be. ¹³ I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you, to the churches, these things. I am the root and the off-spring of David, the bright, the morning-star. And the spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come.

²⁰ He that testifieth these things saith, Yea, I come quickly. Amen: Come, Lord Jesus!
